Hmmm, in that case UGM is probably not going to be the next badge milestone!

RTS48, Made my first batch of chocolate ice cream, in the whole it worked out very well, I might need to tweak a bit to better suit my palette but I am very impressed indeed. Going to try and make Banana Chocolate chip which should be straight forward, then will try Orange Ice cream with chocolate swirl possibly with chocolate chips also.

RTS - do you irrigate from the well or do you have water butts to keep a supply in? Dad always has a bit of a grumble if he runs out of water in his half dozen big barrels.] genhos, I had a well sunk when I first moved in last February but the water is not of the quality that I like (although in unlimited supply). My well is only 25m deep and really needs to be extended to 80 or 100m deep to get cleaner water. I will probably need a more powerful pump too although the present ½ HP pump provides 20l / minute at 60 psi. The system is programmable and there are 6 separate zones which water sequentially from 9pm each night (provided that rainfall has not switched the system off - I have a sensor for that). Well done DMNI I'm trying to find a way to maintain the ice-cream in a more liquid state as the last batch required a hammer and chisel to remove from the box. Any hints?

RTS48, Mine was quite normal, not too soft or hard, it did not last long enough to get really hard. I might get that problem when I make double batches though.
----------------------------------------I have always used a cup of boiling water and dip a spoon into it to get it hot for really hard ice cream, Ben & Jerries and Hagendas especially. ![]() |

Good morning everyone.
Having a terrible time with the PC, which will affect results for a little while. I had previously updated to Win 10, did not like it and rolled back to Win 7 Pro. Tried to get the usual security patches which decided that I MUST upgrade to Win 10. Went through all the palaver of cancelling my reservation to no avail. As if this was not enough the PC became more & more sluggish, eventually got task manager to show processes. Found 2,872 instances of javawa etc. Methinks that is way too high. Have managed to cancel all the processes and uninstall Java. Looks as though I am going to have prepare for migration to Linux. I just love the Un PC commands that exist within the Console. kill followed by number, more, man etc. ![]() |

I honestly had second thoughts on posting it, tried to rephrase it but thought what the heck, good for a laugh.
