@ arkangath "Sometimes the client claims I don't have bandwidth" This is definitely caused by the default setting on CEP2 Project Specific Settings Number of workunits per host for The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2? (towards the bottom of the page) A lot of problems surrounding CEP2 work can be overcome by setting this to something other than 1. If running multiple CEP2 WUs at a time causes problems for your machine you can restrict this by adding a line to an app_config file. Please forgive my ignorance, but how can I fix it then? you didn't give me a source for that quote. |

No problem though: Go to whatever Profile you are using ( click "Settings" top right of this page) and towards the bottom: Project Specific Settings Change Number of workunits per host for The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2? Choosing anything othe than 1 will eliminate the supposed nandwidth problem. "1" is an old default setting. If only wanting to process 1 CEP2 at the time (because of the memory required) upgrade to BOINC 7.0.64/65 (depends on it being Windows or Mac/Linux). This allows use of an app_config file [read forums topic], for each science how many are allowed to compute concurrent Never a problem to try helping. Always ask - someone will pop up with an answer. ![]() |

MCM1 has been resumed 7:34:45 PM
----------------------------------------After working with the researchers, we have resolved an issue that caused errors on a number of batches of work. We have removed these from distribution and we are in the processing of reloading the fixed versions. If you want to make sure that your client does not have any of these errant tasks, you can go to the Advanced View, Projects tab, Select World Community Grid and then press the Update button. Any tasks that should be removed will be removed from your client following this communication. |

Found a "fairly" long
---------------------------------------- CEP module.... Elapsed Time currently . Decided to let it complete, as interested to see how bad it can be!!!! Lots more days crunching to go and should complete it prior to its deadline . Hoping it wont time out, though wouldn't be surprised if it did!!!! CPU run time currently Wonder what the record is for the longest most rubbish unit ever. Anyone beat this???? Edit: Other things running on laptop are GPUgrid and 7 MCMs at moment. Neither of these have any significant performance issues (do loose a bit due to GPUgrid, as would expect) and didn't loose this amount of processing time running 8 MCMs! Completed:Valid 18.00 CPU Time / 75.03 Elapsed ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by Ian_UK at Jan 28, 2014 7:42:12 PM] |

Ian,
I don't understand. CEP is capped at 18 hours CPU time, so if the elapsed time is that high then the machine must be very busy doing something else! |

To answer your question:
My longest crunch time over the last year was an MCM1 beta WU on a P4 machine that ran for 69.02 hours of CPU, 70.24 elapsed. |
