Re: Morning Update II

Question for our "Stats King" Jonnie, this would also fit in with the MVN Forum thread -
1. Of the active member of the UK Team, how many have posted in our thread?
2. Of these, how many of them are Group 1?
wink wink wink

Re: Morning Update II

Alan
Several thoughts on team members using the thread (in no particular order).

Group1 currently comprises 26 members:

arkangath endellion Labinopper SnaxMuppet
ChrisUK fosking Maugan Soong
CONNIE genhos Mike D Green Steven Langston
crooks_uk GrumpyCat oz_mingus stroudwaterboy
djerram Ian_UK RTS48 Thargor
douglasalt1 jonnieb-uk RussellBest The Candlers
Apis Tintinnambulator themoonscrescent

Long-running CEP2 & MCM1 WUs plus no zero quorum work for the latter can make maintaining Gp1 status difficult for smaller mermbers who, although active everyday, do not validate everyday. GB096523 is an example having just dropped to Gp2 despite averaging 3.6RTd pd.

There's no way to total thread posts by members other than by examining every one of the 2,420 posts. I estimate that 8 of the 26 members listed above have never been seen in this thread (either contributing or observing). A further ~12(est) members have posted, in this or the previous team thread, sometime in the last 18 months.

But it's entirely possible to view the thread (& the forum) without registering/logging-in. At time of writing there are only 51 members viewing the forum but 1,258 Guests!

If I see a non-contributing member listed in Member(s) browsing this thread I post a suitable welcome message.
Hello RussellBest good to see you checking the Team thread. biggrin

Ah but you took a holiday from the team! Albeit less than 24hrs all results that validated 27 Jan were allocated to BAE Systems not to the UK team. Thus although you personally have a 100% record, for the team you're at 96.77% for the last 30days when 100% is the requirement.

In Other News

From the Ripple thread:

Mamajuana returned 30DaysRT/80,076Pts/101Res in 1 day from 1 machine which generated 242XRP. which I'm informed converts to ~ £0.69. No "get rich quick" even with a high-end machine! I'd be surprised if it covered the electricity costs.

I seem to remember him mentioning, in the build-thread, that his new 4P server was pulling around 600W. At a unit-cost of around 15p/kW, that works out just over £2/day electricity-cost, if my calculations are correct - so yes, it's an impressive machine (and it should be doing a lot more than 30d-RT/day, but Ripple was never going to be cover the electricity costs of any machine - just offset a portion of it.
