I've made an interesting observation since moving over to just running FA@H from a FA@H/MCM (10%/90%) mix.
----------------------------------------Unsurprisingly my average results returned over the first 10 days has doubled, compared with the last 10 days I was running a mix. But, also, the daily average number of points I'm getting has gone up 1.5 fold (72,000->112,000), and my daily average RT has gone up 1.16 fold (16.2 days to 18.8 days). So not only are the FA@H WUs much sorter, they are worth more points, and are more efficient with the CPU with less wasted time. This is all said with no change to the way my computers are run or being used. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 25, 2014 12:59:20 AM] |

FA@H WUs much sorter, they are worth more points, and are more efficient with the CPU with less wasted time Yes also have the same problems with Windows 7 PC. After I switched over to MCM my daily runtime/points/results figures all dropped off significantly. This is mainly why my current average daily runtime is just 7.45 days, instead of over 10 days. My slower laptop running Ubuntu from CD which runs overnight/weekends however is pretty efficient, and outperforms my higher spec Windows 7 PC for MCM every time now. With previous projects like SN2S the Ubuntu laptop's performance was significantly lower, as would have expected from a lower spec PC. |
