Re: Punch per pound

That's a real shame for you TMC. Of course, paying the bills is more important than WCG (hard though that may be to believe), but I'm sure I speak for everyone here in wishing you all the best and look forward to you being able to return to full production soonest.

Re: Punch per pound

themoonscrescent, That is a real blow to the chops. Shows just how much they value their employees, you should have got a raise instead. I had a similar experience and since then I've never put any companies needs over my own, it is just not worth doing. I've also learnt to not be afraid of moving to a new job, it gives you sense of freedom and control of your own advancement.
I hope everything works out and you will be crunching 100% again.

Toasty

My 3900X is sitting with the CPU at a toasty 91C. I hope I've set CPU and case fan profile to the right level to not get any hotter. I believe the limit is 95. The good thing is that's still almost silent.

Edit: It's now at 92C and the fans are running at full speed. Mind you, the temperature in my datacentre (i.e. box room) is currently 29C. I might give it a hoover after work, and see if it's any cooler tomorrow.

Update: Hoovering the insides and cleaning all the fans and air filters hasn't made much difference, maybe knocked a degree off, but although the fans are running at the same full speed they are definitely a little bit quieter (although on full speed it was only a quiet hum to start with).

46 years 253 days as of this lunchtime. I'm clocking up on average between 10 and 20 days per day elapsed, so I expect you'll overtake me soon.

Re: Toasty

I think we will both get our D50's fairly close together. I'm currently getting about 24 to 28 days per day but I will be slowing down to nothing when we go for our 2 week holiday, and the wife has me shutting down my computer when I'm not using it from now on.
Our daily output will be very similar soon. I may catch up to you but will not be racing ahead.

applause Rankings

Morning all,

Just checking out some stats on Dave's site. Ncoded has now taken the points team top spot in an incredibly short space of time wow, well done. For the team though after languishing around position 40 for years on the global points leader-board we've moved up to 36 cool since the GPU work has been circulating and ncoded has massively boosted the UK team numbers! In two weeks we'll be up to 33rd. Wow!
Well done guys! biggrin

I cant wait for the GPU prices to normalise, they're crazy right now but coming down. I saw some nuts stat that the crypto mining is consuming 0.5% of the worlds electricity. For this and its attractiveness to criminals I hope bitcoin crashes. devilish

Yes, we're punching well above our weight thanks to ncoded.com, 5th in the world in terms of points.

Re: Rankings

Thanks guys, yeah its pretty crazy just how much work GPUs can do.

I also noticed that Team UK is now the #1 team in the UK both on work done and daily work. Hopefully OPNG will continue long term so we can help Team UK to continue to move up in the Global rankings.
