Re: More modest achievements

Hi Guys,

Hands up those that watched Le Mans biggrin
Hands up those that watched all 24hrs of Le Mans tired
Hand up those that feel really old after staying up to watch all 24hrs of Le Mans hugs

Really great race this year.

I didn't watch it I'm afraid. I'm a passive motorsports fan. I like watching it but usually seem to have something else to do!

BTW Steve, I currently have 35 threads running full time, in a big push to get my Diamond 50. I don't know how long that will last (I currently have the house to myself), but I haven't got far to go now in relative terms. I may be able to beat you over the line smile

Sadly I think this will be a last hurrah. I know how much heat 34 of those 35 threads chuck out (I'm sitting in the same room) and with climate change happening there has to come a point where my conscience kicks in. We're buying an electric car next month, so it seems like a good time to turn on power management and just run WCG when my machine is idle, kind of in the spirit of the way it was originally intended.

The Diamond 50 in Mapping Cancers Markers is very important to me though, because my first wife died of metastasised ovarian cancer when she was 50 years old. Getting the badge seems appropriate.

Re: More modest achievements

DC, I think you will beat me to the D50 as well, I'm at 48:115. The important thing is that we will both make it, as well as some of our other team mates.

I'm not that keen on electric cars, I think they are a kind of a false ecological solution, it sounds good but doesn't really do the job. It is my belief that Hydrogen fueled cars are the real way forward, also means we can all go back to massive V8's without ruining the planet :)

Re: The race to MCM Diamond 50

Hi DC, Just got back this evening, very tired but feeling fine. I'm at 48:364, not doing too badly as I let my best friend use my computer while I was away, and looking at my history, he used it quite a bit more than he said he would.

49:081. You're going to get there before me I think, due to the hot weather and my small study!

Re: The race to MCM Diamond 50

Your pulling away from me DC! I'm at 49:129

Wife has put her foot down! I have to turn my computer off whenever I'm not using it from now on. :(

I do have some computer work to do this weekend so I might catch up a bit.
