Re: We need more wind!

my Agile Octopus tariff is still saving me money

Excellent, I've been trying to get a smart meter for the last year but apparently there's no network coverage here which is frustrating as I have a 10kw LG battery + 8kw solar to cover the 4.30 to 7.00pm expensive period.

Re: We need more wind!

I have just been tested for covid, will get the results in a couple of days. Need to self isolate until I get the results. If I do have it and it gets to the pneumonic stage, I may not survive it. My lungs both have had surgery and have a 30% reduced capacity.
I don't think I have it but because I have a very sore throat and cough, Mrs DMNI wanted me checked out.

I hope you're OK Steve, and I expect you will be. Your wife is right - definitely better safe than sorry. I've had a few regular bugs myself recently, despite my social contacts being minimal. I've had a test too, and came back negative. Worrying times though, of course.

Re: We need more wind!

I'm feeling fine. I'm a bit prone to sore throats and sinus issues, not really worried about it.
Mrs DMNI had a test last Tuesday, which was negative. My sore throat started on Monday morning, I think Claire's test would have come back positive if I had it.

Sounds like maybe you need a femtocell or something to give you your own little network base station. Dunno how that works with smart meters, which I guess need a specific network operator.
Having posted a link to my energy graphs, it appears that as of right now the data for yesterday hasn't appeared, so the first 4 charts are broken, for the first time in ages sad

Re: We need more wind!

Got my Covid test result late last night, it is negative as expected.

Is everyone ready for Christmas?
Going to be a low key affair this year, as it will be for most people.
Usually we go my in-laws for dinner on Christmas eve and boxing day, but they decided it will not be a good idea this year. Only a quick visit to my parents on Christmas day is planned.
Good thing I'm a damn good cook!

From what I read the UK is now more or less isolated from the rest of the world.
Hang in there and stay safe! Best wishes from your neighbor.

Thanks SNURK. Best wishes to you too. I hope our new Covid strain doesn't spread to you guys.
This makes a change. For the past several years the UK has been trying to cut itself off from Europe, and now Europe is cutting the UK off from them. Brexit is stupid, and this shows how dependent the UK is on our nearest neighbours.

SMETS2 connects to the DDC via a dedicated SMWAN network which is provided by Telefonica south of Yorkshire and Arqiva to the north. No plans to extend coverage to us any time soon.
