DC, That sounds like a challenge! I'm always up for a challenge.
----------------------------------------Would like to see how the 3900x compares to my 1950x. It Definitely is more energy efficient. ![]() |

DC, That sounds like a challenge! I'm always up for a challenge. I think I'm up for it. I'll have to switch off my other VMs etc to make it "fair", and then let it run for just over a week and see what happens. We'd have to be processing the same units too (I prefer MCM, and there are plenty of them), although I guess you're Linux and I'm now Windows. I reckon it will cost me 75p/day, which unlike most charitable donations I can't claim against tax ![]() When would you like to start?

Ok DC, Lets do it.
----------------------------------------Do you want to run full thread or just the number of cores? We can use the device list on our contribution page to get just our machines results, so we can keep running other instances. I've WCG running on computers that I do not control. I'm running MCM only right now so we can stick with them. Lets start after tonight's stat run, which makes it simple to add up the 7 days. I'm currently on windows 10 as I have a graphics card issue in Linux which causes the desktop to freeze every so often, will move back to Linux once there is a fix for it though. Should be close I think. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Darkmatter.NI at Jan 28, 2020 8:04:53 PM] |

You're on, but I tell you what... let's just run it until it's clear who's winning, in case I get cold feet about my electricity bill or SWMBO complains about the slight fan noise. I might last the 7 days, who knows
---------------------------------------- . It should be pretty obvious from the device statistics after a couple of days. My machine is running right now, and I'll let it continue. I reckon your machine will be more productive, but not as energy efficient

Please ignore the outrageous claims on my stats site that our rankings have jumped fourteen places today. I accidentally slightly damaged the data yesterday, but given that everything else looks to be ok (and it's self-healing) I've decided to leave it alone rather than restore the backup from a couple of days ago.

Loving this AMD challenge, really interesting if we can get watts factored in too. Your wish is our command. Due to technical issues on my system, the challenge has been delayed until next week. This also allows me to setup my system to be very similar to DC's so that we can compare power usage as well. ![]() |

I've just hit 33 years on MCM. Only 17 to go (which would be about 6 months if I threw everything I now have at it, but at a prohibitive electricity cost). I'm determined to get my Diamond 50 though.
