I've got a PC down. Everything power's up and all the right lights on the motherboard come on but nothing else wont even let me get into bios. Will check HDD later.

Good Morning All,
----------------------------------------I've got a PC down. Everything power's up and all the right lights on the motherboard come on but nothing else wont even let me get into bios. Will check HDD later. Oh bad luck scol5913, it's a bummer when that happens, you feel so helpless. I'm assuming that you still have a screen of sorts (not the 'blue screen from hell). Try reseating all of your cards and connectors, and boot up without any periferals attached, it may help.

No blue screens no display not getting that far. checked the HDD that's fine. thinking now that might be the cpu as it's an older mobo that maybe the reason i can't get to Bios or have any display but everything powers up so PSU must be getting the signal that the mobo is there.

scol5913 Have you another working machine you can use to swap out components to test graphics card or psu? Hope you get it fixed ok. |

scol5913... Have you tried removing the BIOS battery for a bit (or shorting the pins etc with the jumper, depending on your mobo)?

Everything not on the mobo works on another PC. So took all the ram out unplugged the fans and re-seated cpu cooler. Put back bit by bit now works fine. Going to let it run and get nice and hot then switch it off let it cool then see what happens.

Going to let it run and get nice and hot then switch it off let it cool then see what happens. Very pleased to hear that you are making progress scol5913. When everything is OK 1. Good morning everyone. We had 84mm of rain yesterday and a further 5mm this morning. The lake in the condominium has started to fill and everything is soggy. A few of our roof tiles are broken so we have some damp ceilings here which will need painting once the weather warms up.in a couple of months. At the moment it is a chilly 15C.
