Re: Good morning everyone

Afternoon all.

Just passing through while on lunch with a hot cuppa in hand coffee

mac1, I don't know of any way to put an image into a post here other than as you have done by hosting it then linking to that image. Think you may be stuck with that unfortunately.

Re: Good morning everyone

Afternoon everyone, Hope you are all well.

In a few days I shall get a diamond 5 for Zika, Been a long slog but nearly there.

I wish to give an update on my condition. If you can recall, my new medication is supposed to last 12 hrs, but had a drop around the 9hr mark, leaving me in incredible pain, well to my surprise my pain consultant agreed to me taking smaller doses every 6 hrs. It has worked to a large degree, I am at my best when I need it most and average the rest of the time. No big drop in pain relief.
Another thing I have done is incorporate all the useful ideas from a Pain Management course I was sent on, resulting in my pain being at a lower level for longer. There are still days were nothing seems to help, but that is the nature of the beast. The end result is that I am off Opiates, I am much more alert and like my old self again. I can physically do more, think better, and have a lower level of pain, about 75% of the time. A big improvement.
Now if the research work on the "switching off pain" gene, can result in an effective medication then I (and millions of others) really will be over the moon.
A big thanks again to all who gave me sympathy when I needed it the most.

Oh, and the Belfast Giants are doing well, second in the league 1 point of top :)

Re: Good morning everyone

Good afternoon everyone. I'm finally back in Solihull after flying visits to my cousins in Southwold (what a horrendous journey going there - straight into the rising sun - I think my eyeballs have been welded to the back of my skull). Two shopping days left before my return to Bolivia. The pressure to complete my targets (non WCG that is) is intense. I must admit that I won't miss the cold. I think that I have acclimatised well to Bolivia as I really feel this time in the UK I have never been so cold in my life.

Good news on the pain front Tom. May you continue to improve.

Re: Good morning everyone

Evening all.

Good news Darkmatter on the pain, hopefully it will continue to ease for you. All the best.

Enjoy our cold weather while you can RTS, I reckon you will miss it when you go back. tongue
Driving directly towards the low sun at this time of year is something I do not relish having to do. Hope you don't get too much shopping and go over your baggage weight.

And I see a new project has been added here, Smash Childhood Cancer.

Time to wrap my hands around a hot cuppa coffee

Re: Good morning everyone

I don't suppose anyone else uses BOINC Manager on a Mac, to remote-control other crunching-devices?

Have got the BOINC Manager client up and running on my new work-laptop (which had to be a Mac rather than a Linux MINT laptop), and it connects fine, but I just constantly get the spinning "loading" icon and it only updates the task-list about every 60-90 seconds.

Task-list shows it's not using much CPU (about 1%), but it also says it's in a "Sleeping" state.

Anyone seen similar, as it's making it very difficult to control my remote-farm?

Re: Good morning everyone

Good news on the pain Darkmatter.NI (aka Steven).

Yes, Smash Childhood Cancer has come out of beta. It wasn't "Serve Real Ale" after all sad.
I'll update my stats page tonight.

The race is on to bag those badges.

Fortunately it is a good cause though.

The way the boinc client decides what units to run next seems to work most of the time but noticed this evening that I have 4 units all due tomorrow morning at the same time. 1 of them has been running for the last couple of hours at High Priority yet the other 3 haven't even started yet. I have forced them to start now so they will finish in time but don't understand why that 1 unit was decided to be a high priority yet the others not so.
