Good morning all. A cooler cloudy day here today, time to do some transplanting and weeding.
----------------------------------------I'm watching the posturing and jostling amongst the F1 drivers to try to secure the Mercedes seat for 2017. I think that the person least concerned will be Lewis Hamilton because whomever it is, he will see them off and I don't think that any of the 'Legendary' drivers like FA or SV would like to risk demonstrating that they may not be the best F1 driver around. Now that NR has retired it is interesting (if not unexpected) that Mercedes have dropped any thoughts of penalising LH for backing NR into SV at Abu Dhabi. A wise decision I think - better to be only looking for one driver rather than two!

Good morning all. Looks like my eye cataract episode is over for the moment. I was told by the surgeon that the operation was 100% successful and I now have 20/20 vision in my right eye - he feels that the left eye does not need to be done at the moment so that's it for at least a year. Now to buy those Oakley sunglasses that I have always wanted.

I had glasses since 5 as well, struggled to see the top number on the chart. I had laser treatment about 14 years ago and have had
20/20 vision since |

Thanks guys. My daughter-in-law had laser surgery recently and all was great. Not cheap though and can't claim on insurance. I'm really looking forward to setting up my telescope here and having unobscured vision for a change (no floaters etc).I must admit to being a little disappointed with the night sky here. The proximity of Santa Cruz puts up a lot of light pollution so it is never truly dark enough to see the milky way in all of its glory. Apparently if you visit the Salar Uyuni (Salt Flats) it is spectacular.
