Good Morning all.
----------------------------------------Thanks for the sympathy guys 'eye' appreciate it. There are other options but I'm not sure what the outcome will be if unsuccessful. Probably they will do the cataract but the vision in my right eye, although clearer, will be somewhat blurred (if that makes sense). I do have a medical insurance but it pays only 66% so there is some expense on my part As usual my insurance (Cigna) is splitting hairs about what it will and will not pay for. I am having to be very careful that all of my receipts contain the words 'Hospitalisation on a day basis'. The saga continues next Tuesday.

Sorry to hear about the hopefully temporary setback, Rod. Having seen what a mess Warwick hospital have made of treating my sister's diabetes-related eye condition (eventually she went private, and the outcome is currently not good, but not because of the private treatment), I think you're in the right place. I hope next Tuesday goes well.

Grrrrhhhhhh
Thought it would be good to try Ubuntu Unity on my own PC. What a mistake that was. Followed the instructions carefully, at the prompting of software manager performed a restart. The options on restart were what would have expected, normal - advanced - windows. Then the fun {???????) started On normal no screen appears but asks for login credentials which takes me to my home directory but no graphic. Perform a restart, select advanced options, select repair - this comes back 'nothing to repair' select continue and again get old style unix login screen. So perform a shutdown / restart. From advanced options selected upstart, when asked put in credentials only to get message 'Failed to start'. M-s*f will allow you to rollback. Been on Canonical's support page cannot find the answer. Only good thing is wcg works still seems to be crunching. At the moment i am using a laptop to keep in touch. |

I suspect your problem could be graphic driver related.

It is an NVIDIA, good news is that Unity is now removed. So now working purely on terminal prompt line. Ha happy days, thought I had left all that behind when I retired. I will prevail, just need to brain in gear.

Good afternoon everyone.
Have made the decision to take an electronic axe to main box, it will mean a small time off line. Will be back hopefully later today. |
