Re: Good morning team

Good morning team.

I have a days enforced fast today as I prepare for my second eye operation tonight. No food for 12 hours prior to the op and my last drink 6 hours before. I'm still not sure why they require this for an op with local anesthetic. The weather forecast promises 37 today and 40 by the end of the week.

Re: Good morning team

Best of luck with the operation Rod, and very sorry to hear about the terrible (in my opinion) weather in Santa Cruz.

Re: Good morning team

Hope the OP works out for you.
Also hoping those temperatures are in Fahrenheit!

Re: Good morning team

Good morning everyone.
The Op went well yesterday although the surgeon was called away shortly before the start and I had to wait 30 minutes on the slab with only one eye uncovered until she returned full of apology. In these circumstances it is amazing how soon you become aware of the state of your bladder! Anyway - I got a good nights sleep and am now on the eye drops and antibiotics for a week. I'm sitting here in dark glasses as the pupil dilation subsides.

As for temperatures - no DMNI they are not Fahrenheit - it is 9am here in SC and we have already reached 28C. Saturday is forecast to reach 43C (which will be a record for me here) with rain showers. I think I will stand out in the garden with my sponge and shower gel although it may be too hot for me.

Re: Good morning team

Good to read the op went well RTS, hopefully this will be the last one you need. Here's to a good recovery and more good nights sleep.

But 43 degrees! That's just way, way, way too hot. The high 20s here is more than enough for me. Just end up melting and the braincell starts to give up at that temperature.

MCM has been extended with new work having been added to the project which has also removed the estimated end date.

I am Green with Envy.

Weather in NI has been lots of Rain with Gloomy Grey Clouds, occasional Showers and intermittent Drizzle.
Definitely going somewhere hot next summer, even if its just to refresh my memory of what it is like.

Re: Good morning team

Ha DMNI surely you mean you are Orange with envy being that you are from Northern Ireland?

It's difficult to explain but that sort of temperature does not feel oppressively hot as there is normally a breeze which helps to keep you cool. I worked for over 7 years in Kazakhstan where summer regularly exceeded 45C and winter got as low as -50C (without wind chill). It was not unusual to leave the office for a smoke when the temperatures were below -20C only in shirt sleeves although if we had to work outside for more than 30 minutes we had special clothing. I always preferred the cold as you could always put on another layer. Public decency (and potential sunburn) prevents you from taking off too much when it gets too hot!
