Good morning everyone.
![]() Darkmatter.NI Good to hear that you are getting past the dark side of not using opiates and getting used to the new medication. Here is to hoping that the new drug regime will help you through the pain and making your life that bit easier. On the subject of cars I have no preferences. Started driving lessons in 1972 and decided that I did not like driving so gave up and have not looked back. It should be noted that I was flying solo and being prepared for cross country flights, then the money ran out. In the early sixties a neighbour had a 1932 Bentley open racing car, in British Racing Green, which he would occasionally take me on a ride to Brighton. |

I like the look of the Lexus TomNuttall and seems reasonably priced as well. Is it comfortable to drive on long journeys? It is very comfortable to drive, which is the main reason for me getting it. When I had my crumbling hips replaced a few years ago I lost enough padding to make it uncomfortable to drive the car I had for any length of time. So I prefer comfort in my old age and the lexus is by far the best I have had. I hope things ease off for you soon Darkmatter.NI. I know that chronic pain can get you down. Happy Star-Wars day everyone (May The Fourth Be With You!). DMNI I'm glad that you seem to be recovering from the Dark Side, I hope that you continue to improve and that the new drugs prove as effective as the opiates. I must admit to never having suffered any serious illness in my life (except for a hip resurfacing back in 2009 and that was just painful for a couple of weeks).
----------------------------------------Should I be ashamed to tell you that I drive an automatic Toyota RAV4 here in Bolivia, second hand to boot (2010 model). Really with the state of the roads a 4WD is essential but also something that has a reasonable ground clearance, good maintenance support and is not too wide to negotiate the narrow streets of Santa Cruz (designed primarily for horse and cart). I can't say that the fuel consumption is fantastic (18 mp(us)g around town) but at 37p a litre fuel is not an economic burden.

I had Toyotas for the past 30 years (Celica, Starlet, Carina & Corolla), all manual gearboxes. The best move I ever made was getting the Lexus (automatic). It's like sitting in an armchair and easy on the hips, and being a hybrid I average 45 mpg. I did have a smaller one (IS220, a diesel, Manal box) but it was less comfortable than the GS300. My next car will also be a GS300

Here's something I just posted on Facebook. It won't mean much to the likes of Brad94, but trust me Bradley, it happens to all of us eventually. --- Signs I'm getting on a bit... here is a short list of some of the music I still listen to regularly, and can remember when they first came out... Prince - 1999 (34 years ago) ELO - Mr Blue Sky (39 years ago - WTF!!!!) Genesis - Turn It On Again (36 years ago) Madonna - La Isla Bonita (30 years ago) Enigma - Sadeness (26 years ago) Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - Don't Give Up (30 years ago) Runrig - Big Sky (18 years ago - seems like yesterday) Fortunately, I do like some modern stuff. I'm particularly keen on a popular beat combo called The Mumford Family (or something like that), and to prove I'm really down wid da kidz, I like "Of Monsters and Men" too... you can't beat a bit of Icelandic mythology-based pop. However, the nearest I'll get to Hip Hop involves the NHS. dcrobinson sorry for the late reply! You're right most of them mean nothing to me, although some I listen to are from similar decades! I personally am into more Metallica, Iron Maiden, Bruce Springsteen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Judas Priest to name a few. Can't stop listening to Blackberry Smoke who are in a completely different genre recently!
Bradley.

For those of you who are unfortunate (in my opinion) to live in a city, here's just a handful of photos I took on my evening walk today (just ignore the self-signed certificate error). It's the height of the bluebell season in Malvern.
----------------------------------------https://owncloud.36arn.co.uk/owncloud/index.php/s/m8L20jI4w9643df On a more pertinent subject to this forum, what is it about WCG (and/or Team UK) that attracts heavy metal fans? Even more relevant, I'm actually, finally, going to get my HSTB Bronze badge tomorrow, and I've been lent an extra couple of cores until the end of the month. Every little helps.

Good Evening All
----------------------------------------Dave nice photos - I especially like the low sun and long shadows. Thanks for the heads up on the new Santana Album (IV), I've already downloaded it and added it to my iTunes library. I haven't listened to it all the way through yet but first impressions are positive.

Good morning everyone.
![]() Dave. Your question about why WCG/UK team about why there are so many hard rock fans, can only offer that perhaps, that we care to listen and think a little (bit trite will need think a bit more). On a personal note I was recently challenged by Facebook friends / ex colleagues for my Desert Island top ten albums. With Nice, ELP/ Who etc, I also put Liege & Lief (Fairport Convention) and Parcel of Rogues (Steeleye Span) and Bruckner's 8th Symphony. Make of that what you will. ![]() |

Good morning team,
----------------------------------------After 3 days of hell, I think I have broke the back of this addiction, I am in high spirits but exhausted and weak, yesterday was the worst day but I am better this morning despite only 2 hours of sleep. I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Also having the new medication increased today so that should help as well. I will get my first diamond badge in a day or two, then I will go hard for MCM, sorry DC, nice photos btw, ![]() |
