Is there a current listing of GPU cards being tested along with pass/fail results of card previously tested?

Hello yoro42,
----------------------------------------Here is some early info. Wait until the GPU project goes live before you make a decision. Lawrence Added: Something went wrong with the URL that was supposed to be there, but it was old info anyway. Shrug. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 9, 2012 1:04:28 AM] |

Hello,
I'm pretty new to WCG, and I recently received some GPU Beta Test for HCC WU's (like BETA_ X0900060940486200511301505_ 1--) to run on my machine, which is equipped with a rather ordinary NVIDIA GeForce 460M graphics card. Unfortunately, all of these WU's failed to complete. So I visited the the NVIDIA site, and downloaded and installed the latest available driver, which is given as version 8.17.12.9610. Now I want WCG to try again to send me some beta GPU WU's. Is there a way to make this happen? I understand that the expected throughput improvement is dramatic, if I can get this to work. |

Hello dkapetansky,
It sounds as though you have everything set correctly to receive Beta units. We have not tried any last week. Perhaps there will be another Beta GPU trial this week. Lawrence |

Would it be possible to add a GPU test pool of known good work units through a GPUtest project people could select to test their GPU configurations. This may help us get machines stable before putting them on the project. It may help find best suited drivers for each OS and GPU

Sorry, very late getting back but....
Okay, as having followed these GPU threads, I have not seen the following question: when do we Linux only crunchers get to participate ??? :) I do have one proven nVidia card with 1.2 capability ready to go. Think if you trial out at other GPU supporting grids, you'll be hitting the ground running when GPU beta arrives to WCG. There's no miracle worker out in the tech room... and we do remember months of testing AND production with CEP2 on Linux only before the Windows crunchers were even allowed to sniff at a Beta. ;>) Point well taken but Linux users have several options regarding video drivers Windows users do not AFAIK. For my nVidia cards I can use the proprietary drivers from nVidia or Nouveau or x.org nvidia from rpmfusion. Perhaps that is why WCG has gone Windows only at this time for limited testing. Anyway, that was the impedes behind my original question and sorry for not being more explicit. |

Round 3 is history and folks wanting to talk about that history may continue to post in this thread. For the next round, the WCG staff may want to open a new thread for the purpose, and with the OP wordings in there to set the tone/direction for that (coming) round. </comment> ; |

Any word on when the next round of GPU betas might arrive?
