Set all my PCs so that they don't need to return any WUs for 3 days.
----------------------------------------Hopefully this gives WCG enough time to get things back to normal service. Patrick ![]() |

I'm getting double points on my Linux machine as well. 11.10 boinc version 6.12.33 64-bit. ...looking at mine in PV, the claimed points are twice what was given before the change. Is this wrong, or, are we now seeing a general increase in credit given to bring us more into line with the rest of BOINC?C4CW, CEP2, and SN2S all affected. All in PV. We are allowing the new credit code from Berkeley determine how much credit is awarded after this update. However, we won't see the full impact for a week due to the way it works. It is interesting to note though that according to: http://boincstats.com/stats/project_cpcs.php we are awarding half of what Seti grants, so a double of credit would bring us inline (I use Seti as a reference because they are most closely connected with David and BOINC).* * Well - we mostly are doing this. The logic in the validators is the same as pre-update. We are hoping to simplify that logic once the new credit system has proved itself. Are the SETI numbers including a considerable portion of GPU crunching, though the label says "the base project offers less credit per CPU second"? http://boincstats.com/stats/project_cpcs_graph.php?a=15&b=0 --//-- |

With the validators on, for the most part happy hourly credits, but also some odd low liers (column in bold).

'm seeng some interesting credit for units that were in transition- examples below from one of several machines.

Can we please read the preceedings, particularly the posts of knreed in this thread, so we're all on the same page? Yes, the initial claims look for most as about 2 times the expected and for the present, the grants are allowed to pass through and will be tuned later when the credit granting system has learned afresh what the *real* device computing capabilities are. This level of credit claim and grant is approximating the reference data as taken from SETI where the new credit system was first implemented, the mother of all BOINC projects. Anomalies will be seen [see also my previous post in this thread with a set of examples of claim and grant. When the new system has been running for a while, knreed is intend on aligning and simplifying the credits across all sciences at WCG and remove many legacy anomalies we've all seen over the years. Till then, patience grasshoppers.

Ok, what is the deal now that I start getting much larger than usual numbers of WUs as inconclusive?
----------------------------------------It used to be one or two every other day or so, but now at least half of all C4CW and CEP2 WUs since last night seem to be ending up as inconclusive and it seems that somehow some WU's are "disappearing"... Ralf ![]() |

Sorry, I had not noticed this thread yet before posting this
----------------------------------------https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...32749_lastpage,yes#367665 in the "A daily quota ?" thread of the HCC forum. That might be a problem for people to load enough work before tomorrow's maintenance session. ![]() |

Ralf As noted in this thread, this post https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost_post,367356 , all computers are consider new as far as reliability is concerned... Meaning, until the reliability level is reached, the quorums will all be minimum 2, and those that had originally been send out before the upgrade with just 1 copy pass through inconclusive till a wingman has confirmed. No device is considered reliable at the moment, hence. --//-- |

Workday has started for me now, so I won't have too much time to keep an eye on this for several hours, let's see how this looks when I get back this evening... Ralf ![]() |

One thing that I don't think's been mentioned, and which is probably something to do with this update, is that (for GFAM & CEP2 - those being the only 2 projects I've downloaded new work for), I'm seeing a Due Date for new work of the 19th of March - i.e., in 12 days time, whilst on my BoincTasks session, it's still showing as the 17th...
