I would like the GPU project to begin as well. I am actually holding back on buying a card until then, so I can be sure to buy one that I know works well.

----------------------------------------BOINC Compatible GPUs https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?authk...mp;authkey=COmlndUK#gid=0 Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd...graphics-card,2857-7.html I didn't use this info because it came out after the purchase but it looks useful: Best Graphics Cards For The Money: August 2012 http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html I can't speak for others but I bought an NVIDIA GTX 480 and it runs the BETAS in about 1 minute and compares well against the 560. Price was the biggest consideration, $240 with free shipping. I have a couple of ATI Radeon GPUs but did not get any BETAS on them.

You are not alone as I am also experiencing the inconsistency in the stats.
----------------------------------------Also, they solved the intermittent problem. The servers have been down for 12 hours. Nothing intermittent about that.

They had some filesystem corruption that they are working through. I'm glad I had bumped my queue up to 3 days before this started.
