As far as those solar cells (panels), they have over half of them installed right now and they should be able to complete it on Monday. Since Sungevity requires a port on the router to keep track of the operation and I am already using all 4 ports, I will have to get a switch/splitter/bridge at Best Buy today so I will have any additional ports I need.

I use switches to make more Ethernet ports available. Works great and is relatively cheap. Good Deal. We haven't had to deal with too much heat here this year. We have hit 100F a couple of times, but have been 2-3 degrees below average for most of the summer ... for the first time since 1984. Coupled with last year's average year after 20+ years of above average and all time high temperatures, it's been two good years in a row.
On another topic, my DSL has been out for several days (yes, it was their problem, as it has been every time over the last 12 years). I've been getting by on PV workunits and thus my decline in points / hours / WUs.  - D |

 Good Morning MOT Congratulations David Autumns. I have had a few problems with my DSL as well Darth, but as far as I can tell, it is more reliable than my other choices here in the boonies. Another 108F day ahead. Will shut down a bunch again. Plays havac with throughput and PV. |

Well, it is starting out here in Prunedale (just north of Salinas, Ca) somewhat foggy and the temperature right now is 70F. We had some warmer days earlier this year, but the warmest tends to be in September and October. We might get to 90F. The warmest areas are further inland.As for a switch, I got a 5 port Dynex (Best Buy brand) with one port used for the router and the other 4 for devices. I am using one of those right now for the lap top. I am not having any problems. |
