Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Plz see my follow up post... 16 minutes went woosh. kateaicy has 9 minutes on 1:24 missing.

It looks like it's only a problem on the Linux hosts.

One result from my Linux Duo Core Laptop:

World Community Grid 6.12 Beta Test BETA_BETA_ace80_0000000_2159_1 02:08:20 (01:50:32) 29-jul 23:22 29-jul 23:22 Reported: OK

From the Workunit status:

BETA_ BETA_ ace80_ 0000000_ 2159_ 1-- 612 Pending Validation 29/07/11 19:12:37 29/07/11 21:21:55 1.84 31.8 / 0.0

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

I have bumped up the number of slots in the feeder for this beta. Things are looking good so far.

Thanks,

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Got 9 Betas for 9 cores -- all looking good -- est time ranges from 5 hrs (fastest machine) to 15 hrs (slowest) with 8 - 9 hrs on mid-range machines.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Edit: If the application is recoupling the CPU time at the start of the next job that could be the point (no next job, no recoupling).
That seems to be true:
After checkpoint 7 at 87.5 %
- CPU Time: 2:03:48
- Elapsed: 2:06:40
After completion (100 %)
- CPU Time: 2:03:48
- Elapsed: 2:35:15

The CPU time of the last job goes to the drain... sad

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

I have 4 beta_beta running. All started at the same time. Funny thing on the time. One has 40min elapsed with 1:20 to completion but it is at 50%. Looks to me like there is twice as much left to do as done. The others have much more time remaining and the % seems ok.

Update: In just a short while latter the time to completion has fallen to almost the same as the elapsed time and the % is now 60.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

On systems running at 60% CPU usage, it looks as if the CPU time and elapsed time are reversed. Here's one such WU:

BETA_ BETA_ ace80_ 0000000_ 4641_ 1-- system76-pc Pending Validation 7/29/11 20:25:15 7/29/11 22:53:46 2.06 54.1 / 0.0

It was credited with 2.06 hrs CPU time. However, looking in Properties on BOINC Manager on my machine when it reached 100%, I saw:

CPU time 2:03:29
Elapsed time 1:25:40

Furthermore, the start and stop times in Status on the web site were 15:30 and 17:53. 60% of that difference, which should have been the CPU time, is 1.43 hrs (1:25:40).

This was under Ubuntu 10.04.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

I am running on linux 64 and they only update the cpu time at the checkpoint they will sit at 20 seconds until the first checkpoint then the cpu time will be fixed although it seams to be missing part of the time
