Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Took almost 2 hours, but I got 18 of my cores covered. The only machine remaining is remote and it hasn't snagged a single one.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Have returned my first one:

BETA_ BETA_ ace80_ 0000000_ 3560_ 1-- kate-amd64 Pending Validation 7/29/11 19:31:06 7/29/11 20:57:47 1.24 30.6 / 0.0

Wallclock time (based on start and stop times in status) was 1:26, for just under 1:15 CPU time. This is decidedly lower efficiency than this machine gives on other sciences.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

The CEP2 vanishing time phenomena revisited? I'll wait till the completion to see how wallclock-elapsed-cpu times relate before doing a first opine.

I'm on Linux Ubuntu 11.04 kernel 2.6.38.10 bld 47. It's a good build... getting almost consistently 99.8-99.9% efficiency for DDDT2 on all 4 cores, sometimes it even shows a round 100% i.e. 99.95% or better... all viewed viaBOINCTasks.

--//--

Wallclock and Elapsed match to the minute, somewhere 16 minutes CPU time went AWOL early on in this Linux job.

6.12 beta13 BETA_BETA_ace80_0000000_4515_1 01:56:16 (01:40:10) 29-07-2011 22:59 29-07-2011 23:00 Reported: OK

The other job till now keeps recouping the CPU time at each checkpoint, showing 97.5% efficiency at 62.5%.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

There are still 8000 results waiting to be sent.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Good to know there are a few more around. Wouldn't mind increasing my lot from 9 to something reasonable, like 80. So far tasks have landed on 5 different systems, and 5 different CPU types. Still have 10 other types of CPU waiting for BETA BETA's, and 4 other operating system types...

Hope plenty of you have better luck with the line, they are not even nibbling here,

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

The CEP2 vanishing time phenomena revisited?
No, it does not look the same.
I have just displayed Properties after checkpoint 5 at 62.5 %
Elapsed: 1:09:08
CPU time: 1:07:19
i.e. 97 % efficiency. Considering that I am using the machine during that time this is acceptable. The CEP2 job which is running at the same time has already lost 23 mn in 4 hours and a half.

But it seems that the beta application is not passing CPU time to BOINC at all between checkpoints.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Ah ah ! Could it be that the CPU time of the last job is lost ?
I'll keep a close eye on mine till the end to check that.

Edit: If the application is recoupling the CPU time at the start of the next job that could be the point (no next job, no recoupling).
