Re: Reduced CMD2 project priority

themerrill,

there are 15,000 results out there in the wild now. Most of these are children/grandchildren at this point.

Mysteron,

We are not able to upload results to the researchers at this time. Storing new results without a location to place them could cause issues to the other projects running on World Community Grid. Storage is always finite. Once we clear the backlog of batches to return on our end the project will be turned back on.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Reduced CMD2 project priority

Stats are that since those incomplete batch WU's were released on August 18, 430,000 results have been validated, nearly 29,000 a day. These added to 196 CPU years to the crunched total. With uplinger's 'in the wild', the WUs completed are likely to exceed 450,000.

Will update the charts to show we're done through batch 2072, at least that's the highest number I've seen reported as having gone through in the past 2 weeks. Makes it 84% on batches. On positions I truly would not know but It's higher FAICT.

I'm assuming that CMD2_ 2064-2GF9_ A.clustersOccur-3BJI_ A.clustersOccur_ 8_ 106923_ 109377_ 108187_ 109377_ 1-- is a parent? It finished at the soft cut off point of 6.02 hours on 9/2/11 at 03:43:20 still in PV state.

Result Log
<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<stderr_txt>

Will this task be split into 2 children tasks when CMD2_ 2064-2GF9_ A.clustersOccur-3BJI_ A.clustersOccur_ 8_ 106923_ 109377_ 108187_ 109377_ 0-- is returned?

Edit= Added my result log output

It's a grandchild - 6 numbers after the "Occur". 2 numbers = parent, 4 numbers = child.
Will this task be split into 2 children tasks?

There will be grand-grandchildren. The number of these would be pure speculation, however.

Regards,
Martin

Thanks Martin

Reason I thought it was a parent was because it ran to the soft cut off point 6 hours.
CMD2_ 2064-2GF9_ A.clustersOccur-3BJI_ A.clustersOccur_ 8_ 106923_ 109377_ 108187_ 109377_ 1

What dose the number after "Occur" stand for before the first lot of 6 numbers? In the unit name I'm referring to it says Occur_ 8.

Re: Reduced CMD2 project priority

In
CMD2_2064-2GF9_ A.clustersOccur-3BJI_A.clustersOccur_8_106923_109377_108187_109377_1
8 means it is the 9th parent for this pair of molecules 2GF9/3BJI, which was named
CMD2_ 2064-2GF9_ A.clustersOccur-3BJI_ A.clustersOccur_ 8_0 (or _1)
All positions could not be computed before the time cut and a child WU has been created to compute positions 106923 to 109377
This was still too much work for a single WU and this grandchild WU has been created to compute positions 108187 to 109377, of which you got copy 1 and your wingman got copy 0.

Since these positions are really too tough for a successful computation before the time cut one (at least) great-granchild WU will have to be created to compute the remaining positions and it will be named something like
CMD2_ 2064-2GF9_ A.clustersOccur-3BJI_ A.clustersOccur_ 8_ 106923_ 109377_ 108187_ 109377_109356_ 109377_ 1

Note that each time a new generation has to be created there are usually several WUs of the same generation, each for a subset of the range of positions which could not be computed at the previous level.

Re: Reduced CMD2 project priority

Thanks JmBoullier for your reply. Work is definitely slowing. I have 2 2052 children. CMD2_ 2052-2I7T_ A.clustersOccur-3D0G_ A.clustersOccur_ 14_ 57349_ 57735_ 57633_ 57667_ 0-- finished in 0.13 hours still in PV. CMD2_ 2052-2I7T_ A.clustersOccur-3D0G_ A.clustersOccur_ 14_ 57349_ 57735_ 57458_ 57492_ 0-- 42.85% after 2 hours. Has roughly 2.5 hours remaining. I'm guessing here I'd say there under 10,000 jobs in the wild now. Am I close?

Re: Reduced CMD2 project priority

Speedy, it's a grandchild as per what Jean explained:

Color coded: CMD2_ 2052-2I7T_ A.clustersOccur-3D0G_ A.clustersOccur_ 14 _ 57349_ 57735 _ 57633_ 57667 _ 0--

parent (15th, a the first is 0)
child
grandchild

Any additional pair of 6 digit numbers is a further off-spring, great-grandchild etc. The second 6 digit number in a pair, if same, indicates that there was no split. Here it seems the case that the 57668-57735 positions were put in a second, maybe even further split in 2 more grandchildren which was not the case in the other example:

CMD2_ 2064-2GF9_ A.clustersOccur-3BJI_ A.clustersOccur_ 8_ 106923_ 109377_ 108187_ 109377_ 1

Frankly, can't remember to have seen this before [was long time ago I crunched HCMD2]. Certainly would speed up batch completion.

Re: Reduced CMD2 project priority

Thanks for correction SekeRob. 14_ 57349_ 57735_ 57458_ 57492_ 0 must be from a big molecule. Looks like task will run for 4.5 hours at 3 hours 43 minutes now. Total run time was 4.24 hours. Also in PV.
Edit= Added total run time
