I got a few 2071's as well. Got a few 'no work available' messages then new work again. With the cache set at about 1.5 days, I'll just keep an eye on things... Really would like to get a saphire here, but not sure if the work will last long enough( at least until they fix things in france)

The holding pattern sits at about 2467-2072 = 395 batches, parents, children etc. to be loaded into the hopper on full resume.
Visit the graal site charts to see how many positions each holds [eyeball as the per-batch positions I've not seen anywhere]. There's at least 4-5 months full production left and with 2 projects to be added within the next few months [Ohhhh], there will be more spreading of computing effort. In short, don't break a sweat yet :D --//-- |

Depending on how long this CMD2 run lasts, those finish times could shorten. Of course there could always be a Denugue deluge(TM) or another beta run (or three). That's the problem with predicting the future, it's so unpredictable. I agree though, there should be plenty of results remaining for people to get reasonable badge levels. Hey sek, how about a hint what the new projects are? It's about research, it needs a lot of computations, its results will be in the public domain and will hopefully benefit humanity. Many hints at once, I hope bbover3 will not chastise me. |

Are we out of WU? I'm getting the "no work available" message.

The work that is going out is the children work units. So there will be times when no work is available. Work will continue to get harder to receive until the project is turned back on. There is not ETA on that at this time.
Right now there are 72,000 results in the wild. And about 4,000 children workunits loaded and waiting to be sent (project is at a lower priority) Out of the 72,000 mentioned above, there will be more children workunits from those, but the actual numbers are something I do not know. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Work, while slowing, is still arriving. I've picked up 9 units in the past half hour.
----------------------------------------Uplinger, 7 Days ago, you reported about 76,000 results (152,000 units) 'in the wild.' What are we down to now? On one had, 7 days seems like plenty of time to blow away a lot of results. On the other, I'm getting a lot of second generation (children) units, many days after I finished all my parents. I'm interpreting this as the result of many people who can't get through their entire buffer, requiring a 3rd person to finish off the parent units. If that's it, I'm not criticizing those people. HCMD2 plays havoc with any buffer. edit for clarity [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 2, 2011 3:41:51 AM] |

I've noticed that this group of units seems a little chewy. I thought the work was supposed to become easier as we approach the later batches.
Seems we've hit a spot of gristle. Perhaps a little more gravy would ease the situation. I wonder whether it would be possible to use 'no work available' triggers to release a small quantity of new units to keep the crunchers that are dedicated to one project usefully employed rather than twiddling their little silicon thumbs...? |
