That was fun while it lasted - it took me from 3 days short of Bronze to 3 days short of Silver in a little over a long weekend - although several WU's were server aborted (pity, they would have helped along the way!) and several others were lost to error.....although that seems to have been quite a common problem. The short return times didn't help, particularly if the betas were interleaved between long-running CEP2's and CMD's. It will be interesting to see how long before the next run of betas....
----------------------------------------Thanks to all the Tech Guys at WCG for their input to all this - I hope the exercise has proved to be worthwhile - ultimately, it is not the time/points that matter - is the whole system now more stable/efficient following the rejig and this trial? |

16 days of Beta this round. Less than 3 days to Ruby.

Yes, I had an attack of mild grumpiness when my netbook picked up a FAAH beta WU that ran out of time after nearly forty hours of crunching. |

Definitely a bummer. Near as I can figure I lost 40 WUs to error/aborted although a few of the errors that had run time did get credit so they weren't a total loss. On the bright side, if the new bunch that is coming is a big one there will be more beta badges to award.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.
