Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

One of my tasks is up to 22 hours and still hasn't reached 30%. This could be a whopper. The others are all scheduled to finish in less than 24 hours.

I checked the properties, elapsed time and CPU time are very close and it's still checkpointing. Guess it will just work me that much closer to emerald.
Sounds like a Casio

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

My little atom based fileserver with 1Gb memory picked up two DDT beta units which will return late. They've both been running for 60hrs already and have another 50 to go! Deadline is tomorrow evening. sad

So apologies to my wingman on each of those units and to whoever gets the resend when they run out of time, but I'm going to take a chance on letting them run and perhaps getting some hours credited for returning even if they are half a day late. 220 hours of Beta credit isn't to be laughed at.

In the distant past this occurred to me; ~350h if I remember correctly. Didn't get credit, so be hopeful rather than expectant.

@widdershins,

Don't know what the cooling situation is with your fileserver, but if push comes to shove and you're not already doing so, set BOINC to ''Run Always'' in the Activity menu. Till then, just keep crunching, what sounds like B Type, the longest running of DDDT2. Half or whole day late will most surely give credit.... long as the "quorum-complete" result has not been removed from the live database. Bad memories of some do not necessarily apply ;>)

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

Yep, good guess, two pe type WU's. I doubt the units will be there for long after the deadline though, the two wingmen have already returned and they don't normally let the Betas linger for too long once finished before carting them off.

BOINC is already in run always mode and Top indicates that they're achieving over 99% processor utilisation. Plus I've been avoiding using the fileserver as much as possible since I discovered I'd hooked a couple of whales on my little fishing line. But I don't think it's making much difference.

Currently they're sitting at 83h done 32h to go with return deadline arriving in 10h. praying

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

Looking at the Beta stats of this noon, picturing a 1 or 2 crunchers with a smile from ear to ear. 2 results got added with a 55 hours mean time... could be one with 10 hours and the other 100 hours :O)

It ain't over till it's over :D

P.S. 2940 points for these 2 ;P

Mine was 20.28h, so the other one was probably around 90 hours...

Simply click the WU name on the Result Status page and you'll be able to confirm how your wingman did.
