SekeRob has an updated GFAM end-of-project estimate:
---------------------------------------- Based on the batch numbering, assuming there's sequential feeding, last one here 114132 some hour ago, looks to be less than 5 days now, 4 days after the 10 day announcement on May 25. And a further morsel from jhindo on the upcoming new Cancer project: To confirm, the next cancer project is very different from HCC in terms of research methodology and technique. We don't yet have a name, but safe to say it won't be called HCC2. It's also using a different software application so we can't reuse HCC's GPU code. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at May 29, 2013 4:27:45 PM] |

I've just received a WCG email - shock, horror - entitled Spring 2013: a time of renewal for World Community Gridâ
----------------------------------------No new information. Reiteration of yesterday's news of a new Cancer project in the pipeline and that a new version of BOIC will shortly be adopted. But who knows, a WCG email might give a nudge to one or two InActive members to start crunching again. ![]() |

CfCW
----------------------------------------The researchers have analyzed most of the results to date for the project and are currently writing a research paper about their findings. They seem pretty excited about what they have found, so we want to see what they will publish. This may take about 3 to 6 months, depending on how fast they finish writing the paper and how fast the journal reviews and schedules its publication. At the present time, the researchers think they will want to run some more simulations after publishing the paper, so we will set the project to a paused state, unless at some point they decide that they actually don't need to run more simulations. We have to be patient. Maybe I'll get the 98 hours I need to make Emerald! There is also some general info re future possibilities for CfSW posted here. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at May 29, 2013 7:33:28 PM] |

Morning Team, it's good to see we're still progressing forwards and overtaking other teams ![]() There should be another advance tomorrow in the RunTime rankings. The main feature of the T&T report, to be published in the month end stats update, is the slowdown in the rate of advance for Points and Results as a direct consequence of the end of GPU crunching. |
