Post #1000 in this thread Hmm that's one stat that I wasn't keeping details of. I can add to it though - 21 of the 100 pages in the thread have been added in the last month. ![]() |

@Thargor - another who enjoys a fine ale then
---------------------------------------- . Do enjoy a Hobgoblin from Wychwood, had a tour there. And am very partial to a Buzzard or Peregrine from Cotleigh, superb dark ale and porter and their open days are rather good, free ale and as much as you can sensibly drink and some lovely local food too. Can also buy their ale at a good price too. Tawny is also very drinkable for a lighter taste.Of course there are others, Black Sheep itself is a nice one. Got a few new ones to try in the cupboard, always have to have a stock in Can't say that I have heard of your two choices, will have to have to see if I can find a taster! But this evening was Heligan Honey from Skinners, a fairly light ale with a subtle honey flavour, a pleasant one for sure. |

@ Jonnieb-uk: It certainly is helping with my stats, I'm constantly surprised at how fast HFCC is flying passed, am already considering putting a Q6700 in my old Dell E520 Dual Core (being a Dell, thats about all the upgrading I can do to it
---------------------------------------- ), and am looking for a cheap Mobo Pack to convert my old Novatech Quaddie into another I7-3770k (problem I'm finding is all the places I look that do the Mobo Bundles, it still works out cheaper to buy one from new ).Please don't talk about Ales, their my favorite tipple as well.. Theakstons / Black Sheep / Hobgoblin / Barn Owl all go down nicely but Hedge Monkey & Golden Chalice are my favorites though (I suppose they would be, living in Glastonbury ).Bishops Finger I found to be a little too strong for my taste and as for Black Cat, well... 3 mouthfulls and I hit the floor, gotta be the strongest I've had so far. Spitfire is the worst I've tasted, like pee water , I havent tried Skinners yet, their on my list.![]() ![]() |

@TMC - So another member of the Team UK Ale Appreciation Society
---------------------------------------- Barn Owl, good choice and the Hedge Monkey has been tasted and very much enjoyed. Didn't know that they were brewed in Somerton and not in/just outside Glastonbury, although not too far away. Would definitely recommend a trip to Cotleigh for their next open day, do the guided tour and then have the tastings at the end, quite often there is a cask only or two to taste rather than the ale available in bottles Had a Honey Buzzard from them last year, oooo that was very very good, shame I haven't seen it available anywhere since ![]() Away from the ale, the 600 million point mark is very close indeed! |

Me likey the darker smoother ales, old peculiar being my all time favourite, though I am partial to a bit of old tom, and hobgoblin is amazing too... also a fan of Belgium and all that she brews.

Our thread is halfway down page 1, that'll never do...
----------------------------------------Morning Everyone ![]() @ genhos: AFAIK (willing to be put right if I'm wrong?), Glastonbury Ales are actually brewed in Taunton, about 45 minuet drive away from Glastonbury (in good traffic). ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by themoonscrescent at Oct 10, 2012 4:59:15 AM] |

As a purveyor of fine ales, I get to sample a wise range of products but being a man of the Midlands, my enduring favourite has always been Bass. Sadly my present establishment is limited to keg beer
---------------------------------------- but I do serve the finest pint of Guinness in town - well I have to, being an Irish Club ![]() |

If I were a religous man, I would be tempted to quote Luke 15:3-7 but I'll wait until after the lunchtime update.
