You don't listen to me when I ask you in a civilised (sp?) manner
to tell me and everybody else where you come from
- I noticed you questioned my spelling and put (sp?) into the quote, astrolabe.
- at least I think it was you.
I didn't doubt the spelling at all. If I did I might have looked it up.
But now I wonder:
Would you like me to start the sentence after your name with a capital letter?
Manipulating quotes ... nerd .. maybe I should seek legal counsel ...
I always thought you were British, but you should never assume anything.
This is what The Free Dictionary has to say about spelling and defining of civilised
- I doubt that one that cost money would be of a different observance.
But I have been wrong before ....

While we're at it: rose Why not fill in that index card?

I should not have reacted as harshly as I did yesterday to what you wrote.
Instead, I should have referred to one of the the many behavioural advices Facebook is brim full of:
"Be twice as polite as you need to, because everybody has his own battle to fight."
It is a two-way one, because you don't know my battles either.

I'm sorry, and I think you are, too.
For some reason, which I don't know about, you might have had a miserable day yesterday.

Yesterday was glee, today is eating-a-bit-of-crow day.

Unscientific stats run Monday morning UTC said:
Out of 82 on line
41 listed where they are from
41 did not.

On Tuesday morning UTC it said:
Out of 79 on line
29 listed where they are from
50 did not.

But then again, morning UTC is when the Europeans are here, and they are better at giving
their info than the Americans later in the day except for Texas and California in general.

I think it makes life a little better having the possibility to see where my co-crunchers come from.
I notice many of them want to know about their co-crunchers also, but all too often there is no info.
It ironic to see one who does not list anything himself expecting another one giving him info ...

I just got myself a large wall map, and I have 200 map pins in many colours
- and there are more where they came from tongue

I don't see the big deal at all. If someone doesn't post where they're from, that's their choice, regardless of whoever likes or dislikes it. It doesn't matter, the choice is theirs. To ASK someone to do so, I don't think is very polite, to be honest. This is my opinion. If they wanted to post it, they would. Why ask at all? And then all the posting back and forth, wow!

Simple premise: If they want it known, they'll post it. Til then, leave it all be. 'Nuff said.
