dKt, yes? I mean canNOT....! Thanks for the help and yes one can write questions but others asked the same question concerning modems and the programing is more complex then I am able to do with out a tremendous amour of studying. Frankly I would rather use all that energy for other things so have my computer tech working on it! Cheating but better use of resources. Thanks for the help and please, I do appreciate the help a great deal it is just that you all are way superior to me in the programing area! I will as a physician never say that again so enjoy! Ha ha!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() LOL Hope your are getting back into it and not too worn out each day.![]() ![]() When I got a degree in Computer Science (1968) there was no such thing as a personal computer. We wrote programs in punched cards and a disk drive was a brand new and exotic piece of gear that was almost experimental. Anyone else remember VOL DLAB and EXTENT punched cards to identify where your data was on the disk? All computers were bigger than pickup trucks and required raised floors, and tons of air conditioning. So, everything I learned in those days has absolutely no relevance today. 514 Reproducer wiring panels are as irrelevant as wooden wagon wheels. 082 sorters, and the great new 029 card punches! Your autocoder textbooks are not all that useful. Oh well. I am not able to keep up with it all anymore, but I do keep up with parts (website development, programming and a few other specialized bits such as data visualization). I had 2 quads, a dual core and an ATOM running Ubuntu for a while, I had them all running HCC and have since converted them all back to Windows of one sort or another except the dual core which I no longer have. They are still running HCC and I believe that I am taking a hit on the performance measures (Points and WUs) of course the runtime should be the same. I was just wondering how much. I know I should have measured it..but didn't ![]() Everyone stay healthy and have a great, really great day. |

082 sorters, and the great new 029 card punches I remember those keypunch machines. We got upgraded to the 129's at one point but kept an old 026 because it could punch something (I do not remember what) that the 129's could not. The 129's were at the tail end of the keypunch era. About a year later we got a contraption which keyed directly to a 9 track tape which was a lot quieter. ![]() Cheers
