There's also apps like BOINCView and BOINCTasks. The latter is supposed to use a lot less CPU from my reading. BOINC Manager can also be used to manage BOINC on other machines. You click on Advanced-Select Computer and enter the machine's IP address. I believe these apps do the same sort of thing but you store the IP's in a file and I think you can work with multiple machines at the same time. I would supposed they couldn't show any info on a machine if it's down so it may help in that respect too. True. The nice thing that Teamviewer adds is that you can logon and operate any of the computers from your main machine..up to and inclucing rebooting it. Interesting. I checked their web site. Looks like GoToMyPC for free. |

Chris, I have stumbled on a great way to deal with your difficulties of seeing when machines are down. I have installed Teamviewer on my other machines and then set up a team viewer partner list. In this way, you can see what machines are "Live" and which are "offline". You might want to give that a try. ![]() Thanks, RT - I will check into that.
