Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

Both mine finished without error and quickly within 5 hours, "valid" status". CPU and elapsed times were very close to each other. Dual core 2.6 GHz E5300 Intel, 4 GB RAM, Vista X64 and Dual core 3.16 GHz E8500 Intel, 4 GB RAM, W7 x64. Had another WCG project running on one core while the BETA CEP2 was running on the other core. Seemed like a very good run with no high disk I/O.

Edit: Added more comment and corrected spelling. Need more coffee

Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

The previous Beta (6.33) I had one on windows 7-32 and incurred 17 minutes spill on full 12 hours. The one of this run (6.35) ran full 12 hours too, but had 29 minutes spill, but did not really notice it running why using system. In the end the IO only happens at the checkpoints/start of a new job segment. Overall it seems considerable less 'gap' time between elapsed and recorded CPU time than my Linux quad... half in ballpark.

Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

There's NO "Try Validation" link to click - my point; it's there for CEP2 tasks but not Beta apparently.

What did I write in a spaced out line?
If the initial validator flagging fails, the "Try validation" will not show until the first midnight run after quorum is complete.

Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

The only one that I have errored out so far was on a lappy that has a few known issues, so I'd say that it was because of a bad motherboard. On a side note, that lappy has crunched several with no other errors. I'm thinking this one was a fluke.

Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

Sorry, you lost me at initial validator flagging.

Tried RAMDisk on a Vista system, but I would need another 2GB for what I have running on that rig; master system, lost of Boinc projects. With the changes in Boinc and how it effects the credit system I expect this will be a very popular tool.
I might up the RAM or try it again on another system just running WCG and one other project, if I get the time.
I think it deserves it's own thread; I expect it will be used by hundreds/thousands of crunchers, Boinc-wide.
A how to would be just the ticket, if you have the time. If not give me a few days to build and test one, for Windows. Alas, a guide for Linux would be beyond me but I know there are such experts here.

Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

I got three resends because the initials errored:

1 x CreateProcess() failed - Access is denied. (0x5)
No cputime used.

2 x Alle Pipeinstanzen sind ausgelastet. (0xe7) - exit code 231 (0xe7)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.
Error could not extract qcaux.

Both tasks used 0.14h cputime.

The last two seems to come from the same machine, because of resend time exactly the same.

Both errors look like local client troubles, no WCG-application error.

Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

Now that the beta test seems to run fine I'm looking forward to production. This is my favorite project and I would love to spend my CPU time on this. smile

Are there going to be more WUs?

Re: BETA Clean Energy Project phase 2 version 6.35

Remarkably, I've still got a WU in PV-land - and as such, it may still be a little too early for the techs to decide...

Goodness knows as to what's keeping that WU from being crunched and sent back (i.e., someone's agreed to be part of the Beta process and isn't keeping an eye on their machine/the forum), but it has until the 06/11/10 @ 22:14:22 to be returned...

No doubt, there'll be others also in this same boat...
