Re: HCC with GPU

Sekerob,

I've bumped the setting up to 30. 0.35% of requests were sent 15 results over the past 4 hours. Let me know if this helps you.

Unfortunately this setting is not a 'per core' setting - it is an absolute setting. We will watch to see how many more errors we get due to this setting. However, I think that the larger user base we have now versus a few years ago when it was set to 15 will likely prevent any issue due to errors.

thanks,
Kevin

Re: HCC with GPU

Thanks Kevin, with the present GFAM/DSFL diet that would kind of give a 25 hour per core assignment when the balance drops below the CE setting and an AB of 24 hours extra. Testing HCC, doing 1:15 hours per run. This would give about 5 hours per core on an octo, just under the default of recommended client's 0.3 day AB setting.

Re: HCC with GPU

To confirm that it's taken effect , set the "Connect Every" back up from 0.25 to 1.0 days, then a single request and assignment was executed for the octo on 7.0.12 alpha client.

4664 World Community Grid 31-1-2012 9:32:13 Project requested delay of 11 seconds
4665 World Community Grid 31-1-2012 9:32:13 [sched_op] estimated total CPU task duration: 613207 seconds
4666 World Community Grid 31-1-2012 9:32:13 [sched_op] Deferring communication for 11 sec
4667 World Community Grid 31-1-2012 9:32:13 [sched_op] Reason: requested by project

This was good for 3/4 day cover on this host with the said GFAM/DSFL combo of work. Devices that process large numbers of short HCC/C4CW/DDDT2-C-type that are saving up the "Ready to Report" clearing will surely benefit under the new scheduling policy.

cheers

Hi, Atlantis555:

Don't worry. When it's ready those with a GPU will be ready.

Re: HCC with GPU

That one is easy, the literal version:

And do not tell, has no power wait, promised in January beta - figs there.

But, who said January?... no CA, no Admin, No Tech that I know off. Once again proving that misinformation is so hard to eradicate, no matter how often corrected.
