I guess that everyone has gone off to bed since it is 3 a.m. Sunday morning...Just one more hour of work to go... nope, not really...  mousie's just getting started....why i start random projects late at night, i'll never know  |

Celeron sounds good though. i probably shouldn't lead you down the wrong road then...lol. if you want the most bang for your buck when it comes to crunching, listen to those amd guys...lol. |

You are a night owl, not a mouse....Things are a lot quieter at night too... indeed things are. hehe, having a moment here....backing up files on my laptop as i'm about to go format it...ever have those times when you go to pull all the files you want to save, and just sit there thinking you've got a file stashed away on that hard drive somewhere that you should be saving, but can't remember what or where...lol. gonna burn what i've found so far...chances are i'll find something else i shoulda saved the second i do...lol. |

I only keep the important stuff on one computer and I burn it to a disk once a week....Everything else can be lost and then found again...Why pray tell is the mousie formatting her laptop again ????....

You have to spend many hours training it to do what you want..You must always remember that it is "wild" and will have periods that it wants to either do nothing or act totally crazy...

---------------------------------------- Re the discussions previously in the thread. I confess that all my machines are intels. It's just the way I've been brought up. All P3s and P4s (one Centrino also... but that's a wolf in P3's clothing). Given the supposed benefits of running these sort of apps on AMD, I'm thinking along those lines as a possibility for my next upgrade, but since I only recently upgraded from 2Ghz to 3Ghz, I'm not in the market for a new processor at the moment. As for my current UD vs WCG considerations, I've left all my work machines crunching UD, but moved all the home machines back to WCG until they get themselves sorted out over there. Managed to sort out the extra heat on the laptops problems without forking out on laptop cooling trays, as shown in the rig showcase. |
