Re: vaio's JTS 2 is now live........

Seem to have hooked a big fish......4% after an hour shock smile

Wondering.......did grid have major database issues prior to the introduction of Rosetta?
Just wondering because some of the file sizes I received were waaaaaay different from those here......could be normal for two different outlets to send out units of differing sizes, I don't know.

I don't understand all the technical stuff.....but it also seems odd that the database went screwy shortly after rosetta returns stopped being registered.

Oh well, here's hoping they get everything sorted soon for the guys over there.

Anyway, here's to our first 100k smile

Re: vaio's JTS 2 is now live........

Mr Galbraith's preliminay postmortem on the problem put it squarely at the feet of the rosetta WUs. There have not really been any problems with Cancer, Smallpox, Anthrax etc as these were all relatively small units (Smallpox was a real gift for results stats junkies), however Rosetta may have put huge stress on the database that UD did not have the infrastructure to cope with.

Maybe their new infrastructure which they are planning to implement imminently will help to resolve this issue. UD have stated that they should not see this sort of problem (or at least this severe) once they switch over to their new up-to-date servers & apps.

Re: vaio's JTS 2 is now live........

Anybody having issues downloading adaware def files?

The other day I found a trojan in Java installer shock, which has since been deleted.....but I can't update my adaware def files confused

Bit of a worry as that trojan may have already been in place when I was sorting my bank accounts online....oh well.

No problems here. Using Ad Aware Pro v1.05 (not upgraded to 1.06 yet).

Started up and it automatically downloaded SE1R56 21.07.2005

Of course I dunno if it's safe to get online at my banks to check the accounts......oh such fun.

Rosetta has picked up pace though.........12%/2 hours now.

I upgraded my J2RE yesterday. Just ran Ad-Aware and Spybot with no sign of a trojan... what was it that you found?

Hi folks!

May I respectfully offer a little well intentioned advice here? smile

Members of other teams, our own included, are beginning to become more than a little unhappy with the way you are using this recruiting thread. It is, after all, intended for the purpose of recruiting new team members, not for general banter. It really is rather annoying to have a genuine recruiting related post immediately driven downward by non-specific chatter between members of other teams.

If you wish, I will be more than happy to provide vaio with a team forum, where you may all exchange such messages as you see fit. This is a genuine offer from a friend.

Thanks guys. wink

Matt, I don't know exactly....but oddly....I installed on more than one rig yet NAV only flagged it on the one.
Best double check them later.

By the way.........top 30 in all categories yesterday smile

Thanks for offering the forum but we already have one where we hang out also....If you read the description for the topic Teams it says "This forum is for teams to communicate among members and recruit new members. Any post that is offensive can be removed by the Forum Administrator"...They also have a suggestion thread above that where you might want to post a thread about starting a members lounge....Anyway thank's for your concern and you are always welcome to post in our thread with any more advice.... cool

Re: vaio's JTS 2 is now live........

pwrguru.

When last I checked, vaio was team leader of JTS 2. I would be most obliged if you were to permit him to speak for 'his' team. However, and as you have taken it upon yourself to post on his behalf, I would point out that communicating is one thing, hogging the board with off topic chatter something else. If you wish to continue chattering about NAV, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Grid.org etc etc, I respectfully suggest that this would be better done in your own forum. Thereby allowing other teams the opportunity of having their ligitimate recruiting posts read by prospective new members. All teams stray off topic a little at times, but you appear to rarely be on topic of late.

BTW. While there is no Members Lounge here, there is a Chat Room. One would presume this to be for chatting about general topics, maybe...

Regards. smile
