Well, so much for the 12 hour cutoff on this wu as it is now at 13:31 hours & 19.6% complete. Wingman got it at the same time and still shows “in process”. CPU usage shows 50% (this is the only thing the machine is doing). Perhaps a Tech will let me know if they want me to leave it alone or abort it.

Thanks Sek.
----------------------------------------Maybe it is trying to save its life. But for this wu it would have got a DOD wipe disk last night and be awaiting donation to my local elementary school. |

The one and only received here went to the max on CPU time:

Never had problems here with 8 WUs at same time-using I7 920 boxes with 6 GB RAM and one quad with 8 GB RAM.

Which HDD did you use?
I never had problems with my X6 on a SSD, either. I do really thing that's a Hard Disk problem. |

Shut down and restarted BOINC (LAIM on) and it came back in same state. Shut down and restarted BOINC (LAIM off) and it came back at 2:05 hours (was 15+ hours), 1.667% (was 20+%) and 21+ hours to complete and increasing. Booted the machine and it came back in same state as LAIM off. Normal restart message. I will wait until I hear from Tech's or it runs past 12 hours. Unless Tech's want me to keep it going, if it goes past 12 this time I'll abort it. It's a long time since I had one this strange. |

hmmm, strange. I had 2 that went to to 12 hrs, so that means that the cut-off time is working on at least a few systems. However, most of mines were 8-9 hrs, some were 4-6 hrs long
