Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

It seems that my two most capable machines (24 cores each) are being limited to 1 task at a time, while my smallest system has a queue of work for its 12 cores. One of the underutilized ones is Linux, one is Windows. Can anyone explain why the bigger ones get only 1 unit at a time?

All my machines are getting one or two at most at a time.
Don´t know if it is a project distribution policy...

Yes!

Yep, getting a little sprinkle intermittantly accross 1 Linux and 3 Windows devices. No ground saturation during this event. wink Probably helps to better spread the work around.

My 24 and 32 core Linux boxes were the only ones getting work overnight. 325 tasks so far!! biggrin

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

There's something funny going on. I see posts from people with 70 pages of completed units already. My 12-core system has 54 tasks, while my 24-core systems have 1 task each.
So, if there is a distribution policy, it's not working evenly.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I guess that´s my post on our home forum Punchy.
Its not 70 pages of completed units, but 70 pages all together (incl. in process).
On some rigs i have managed to get a nice queue going , and on others it just keeps the cores busy with maybe 5 or less queued up

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Well at least you have all cores busy... I've got 23 idle cores on a dedicated crunching system.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Completely brilliant:

3234 World Community Grid 22-6-2012 16:22:43 This computer has finished a daily quota of 10 tasks

None started, they're behind a good days worth of DSFL/CFSW queue, and the quad has exactly 40, 10 per core :D. (regrettably, the short sq/sr have the same long runtime estimate as the pr/pq/pl/pc [5 hours], so will let the esses run first when it's their time. That will really drop the buffer total quickly, and get the quota up ;P
