Would be nice to throw a few out from time to time so we know it's still here.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Yes. I have received none in 2011, and only four before that, even though my machine is up almost 24/7. I have turned off most other work units from WCG to increase the chances of getting dengue 2 work units. I have also reduced the priorities of other BOINC projects slightly and raised the priority of WCG slightly.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

This project is hit or miss at best it seems. When the units do come up, the 'seasoned' crunchers gobble them up nearly as soon as they hit as they aim for their sapphires and on. I have several different platforms and whenever wu's come up it always seems like I am told, no work available for my platform. I have learned to not expect much in the way of w/u's and if it throws a few at me every few months, cool. Im here and willing to do the work if it ever shows.

There are other projects, even a new one that you can get involved in while waiting for this one to send out work. In the end, no matter which project you are crunching for, they all appreciate the work and time donated.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

When the new scientists get settled into their positions I'm expecting to see a larger volume and more consistent availability of results. This project isn't going anywhere soon. Once the units are flowing more freely, the "seasoned" crunchers will devote far less energy towards this science and everyone will have access to as many work units as they can crunch.

I am getting no dengue tasks at all....my ten AMD Phenom cores are not snoozing as they are busy with Leishmaniatis, C4Cw, CEP2, Malaria, HPF 2, POEM, etc., etc. Would be nice to get a few dengue tasks, too.

I expect Mark means 9 August which is just before the webcast which got us all excited about the project. There has been a drought ever since!

Well, all the type "A" results are all returned (have been for a week now). So expect some WU's real soon now . . well . . . hopefully before 2012 !
