sad Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I still keep getting told no work available / no work for my platorm on several types of computer setups. Been this way for a few months now :(

On opening my local rag this morning, I read that WNV has been found in mosquitoes in Southern Ontario, Canada, yet again. I understand DDDT research covers WNV, Dengue, yellow fever and hepatitis. And still not a single task stirring out there that I could process.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

The DDDT2 phase has per this noon accumulated 1,309 CPU years for 3,844,288 validated tasks i.e. your machine(s) may not get stirred, for which we're sorry, but many others are, off and on, just how this has been running since the start. Fill your cache with normal work, say 1 day wroth, change selection to DDDT2 only and let it run for a day to increase chance. After one day, repeat cycle... fill cache with normal available work, change profile to DDDT2 only and run a day... eventually when the C types come out in greater numbers you'll get hit. But first the very rare A and B types need to be done to which the C type are dependent.

I got 3 type-A jobs. 2 are running and have 2 and 14 hours to go. The third WU is still waiting to run and says 5 days to completion. I'll see what it drops to once it starts.

Cheers coffee

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

2 Things to remember about As, as I understand them

1) Infrequent checkpointing

2) All time estimates for As will be very high (unless you've been running nothing but As for days), due to a dramatic drop in real run time (I believe its 50-75% less than the first As) that the system was never 'told' about.
Same thing that happens with HCC. Run any project then switch to HCC. All times will be over estimated. When you go back to the first project, the time estimate will have dropped. HCC had a similar speed up that runs the units about twice as fast as they used to.

It took 14.17 hours

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I got two Type-A units, they were sitting in the queue waiting their turn but at some point each got "Server Aborted". I looked at the Workunit status page for these 2 units, all other BOINC clients had finished with Error status.

Better luck next time, I guess!

There's work flowing right now.

Go grab some.

Edit
Sorry. Wrong thread.
It is HCMD that is flowing now.

OOPS!

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

haven't gotten any DDDT2 wu's since 08/09/11 - any idea when more will be coming? - I'm less than 33 days away, from earning my Sapphire badge (then I will have 8 projects over 2 years!)
