Re: Rice results updates

The filtering of the rice structures from 100,000+ models per sequence to 5 models per sequence has started. It is about 20% done and should be completed before the end of month. This is being done on 3 GPUs using a new protein structure clustering methdology developed for this project which I am in the process of writing up.

I will be putting the structures up on the website when the process is completed.

The functional annotations (the predictions of function from the structures) should follow soon as space is cleared up on our main Linux cluster. This should take another month or so to generate depending on how busy the cluster is.

Re: Rice results updates

Once again, thanks for the update.

Just goes to prove that, although we've finished crunching all the WU's here, that things are progressing 'in the background'.

Keep up the good work, and here's to a successful final outcome of the project.

Re: Rice results updates

Thanks for the update, Hong.

Looking forward to viewing the structures.

BTW, my wife is Korean, and she says that if she doesn't have rice in a meal, she doesn't feel like she has eaten.

Re: Rice results updates

Thanks for the update, lhhung.

I guess CPU-aware WUs are coming for NRW2 (would that be the proposed initials there?). Also, I hope GPU-aware WUs are in the pipe after that. A strong representation from a project related to food-research here at WCG would make WCG continue to be well-rounded in its humanitarian focus.

Re: Rice results updates

Smells like a double blind fishing expedition. Dr. Ling-Hong Hung would have to have the PI do the speaking on that... a WCG gridded NRW2, but strictly speaking, that would have been/would have to be first with WCG (whatever Rumor Central interpretation one can squeeze out of that)

Re: Rice results updates

Well a paper was published :Accelerated protein structure comparison using TM-score-GPU.

There are some cites shown by Google Scholar but that's all I've seen.
