Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Here's the Hallelujah chart... the tail end looks like a flatliner, those 30 tasks from yesterday not exactly having hearts throbbing, or?

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Hi gb009761
I am aware about the "intermittent" particularity of DDDT2.
However, I am really surprised to observe several members here with DDDT2 badges (ie. more than 14 days valid results) and at the same time, for my-self being able to catch only 2 WUs with around 20 cores ! ...
I am the first who mentions that being patient is important. Nevertheless, after 3y300d computation for DDDT, I would enjoy to do more for this project.
I was (I am) only searching for possible causes.
Thank you for your answer.
Cheers,
Yves

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Yves, there's very little to understand. Unless during this start-stop phase whilst testing the production results and working the issues out you have to stay on the button and do not micro-, but nano-particle manage to grab 1 or more of the limit issued tasks and do that with a flotilla of devices to get near any of the higher level badges this early on. Once the larger numbers start flowing all will begin to see them in a quasi set and forget crunching mode. What we know now that the A-Type [36,000 units] will probably be running 1/5th of the original time and the C type maybe doubling [22 million units] i.e. the total amount of CPU time may increase. We'll see it when we see it... till then this project is in-actively intermittent.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I wonder when those 30 A type from this week will have the 60 B types ready for crunching, also when the following 15.000 C types will hit the feeder.. smile

Maybe that will keep us for a few days. biggrin

Probably not.
Why are they tormenting us with this nanodrop? 30 tasks?!

The technique is called forecast-boarding.

Maybe you can get Uplinger to pre-post his best estimate of when these hit the scheduler so that you can have your host check in the >2 seconds it will take for them to all have been sent. tongue

60 tasks won't even be noticeable.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Yves
If it is any consolation to your meagre allocation of WU's - I have only managed to get 16 so far, not quite so meagre as your 2! The 16 I have 'bagged' were spread across 5 Pc's so it's not a good hit rate at all.
I am equally surprised how some crunchers seem to be in the right place at the right time to grab WU's - maybe it has something to do with time zones although this shouldn't have any effect when PC's are running 24/7??

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

No secrets here. Maybe there are some guys away with a lot of luck and in this way got a lot of DDDT2 WU's, but I can't believe just on that.

My guess is that it's a question of numbers of cores available to process DDDT2 (more willl bring you more chances), plus a lot of follow up at the foruns regarding DDDT2, plus discipline and micromanagement to setup all yours machines to get it, etc.

Follow just an example to help you on that (there are distinct ways to get the same effect):

Config all yours profiles covering all devices to work with an additional work buffer days like 2 days (more or less days, it's up to you), covering yours favourites projects.

After it, update all yours clients installed in all devices to make sure that this change make effect, and in few minutes the WU's will be charged in yours devices (if you have a queue small than your buffer choice).

Change all yours profiles covering all devices to work with an additional work buffer days like 2.1 days (more or less, it's up to you), covering the DDDT2 project (or more intermitents projects together).

After it, update all yours clients installed in all devices to make sure that this change make effect. And from this time on you will go fishing DDDT2 WU's.

Make sure that after the additional work buffer days time choose, you will take a look at your devices, to abvoid anyone run dry of WU's (and at this time, if don't receive any DDDT2 WU's, repeat the operation...).

Good luck. wink peace good luck coffee
