Here are my stats:
----------------------------------------pd 3 pc 7 pq 3 pl 3 sq 5 sr 1 sd 1 pr 10 Total = 33 Betas Of which: In Progress 2 Pending Validation 21 Valid 8 Server Aborted 2 I have clicked to all the Try to Validate panick button but if the server is down then let's see Monday what happens. I suppose that the clicking times and number of clicks on the panick button are registered and validation are in the following order: First are validated those who clicked the more times the panick button. Second those who clicked first in chronological order. Later for those who have simultaneous deliveries there are pistol duels organized every morning at sunrise at IBM headquarters |

and I imagine that if this is a fully succesfull cycle test, the results are transportable into the master database. Not according to the reply from Uplinger in this thread... What happens with valid beta results? |

What happens with valid beta results? The reply is open to interpretation as it says at end "They are mostly rerun in production.". English is only my fourth language, of 5, so maybe I lost something in translation here.

My only "complaint" with this beta is that it messed up the completion time estimates for the Rice wu I was running.
The Rice completion time changed to 45 minutes after I ran a few betas, so it downloaded a bunch of them to fill up my 1 day queue. Once a few ran Boinc figured out it was way off and went to the other extreme and now it thinks Rice wu are going to take 57 hours! So now all my Rice units are running high priority even though they'll be done long before the deadline. Not a big deal, but something to note. We had the same issue with the CMD2 work units that were shorter than expected. Hopefully the production wu will have better time estimates. Steve |

Yes, a known 'issue' for those running caches of a few days and the variability of the different project durations. One day we'll have a Duration Correction Factor per science rather than one at the WCG level. Those running HCMD2 in the mix are very aware of this pitfall. This week variations from 0.21 to 9.75 hours on my quad... the few RICE inflating to 16 hours ;>)

Yes, I really do feel that this is now turning into a case of "get as many Beta WU's as possible, so that I can get/increase my badge level", as opposed to, let's really test these WU's under as many different circumstances as possible... I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see the project launch Monday/Tuesday of this next week.... |
