That Swiss Cheese extremely thin practically transparent ice is melting away really quickly
----------------------------------------Not It's a delayed melt on account of the extreme winter we have had in the Northern Hemisphere caused by an inactive Sun and consequently cooling gulf stream bringing less heat to the Atlantic side of the North Pole Take a look here http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm and here http://nsidc.org/data/seaice_index/images/daily_images/N_stddev_timeseries.png and how about here http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGES/seaice.recent.arctic.png and as for the "Independent" Climate Change Review http://www.cce-review.org/index.php It is what is commonly known as a whitewash ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by David Autumns at Apr 1, 2010 2:29:05 PM] |

and as for the "Independent" Climate Change Review http://www.cce-review.org/index.php It is what is commonly known as a whitewash Now it's part of the conspiracy too? Commonly known as backpeddling: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost_post,267573 |

Apologies Eso there are so many reviews into the CRU malpractice I presented the wrong link
----------------------------------------This is the UK MP's exonerating the science carried out by CRU (Note: the UK Members of Parliament ) http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8595483.stm Regards Dave ![]() |

Inside Koch's Climate Denial Machine:
----------------------------------------http://motherjones.com/blue-marble/2010/04/inside-kochs-climate-denial-machine The Kansas-based company and its affiliates and foundations spent almost $25 million on "organizations of the 'climate denial machine'" between 2005 and 2008, according to the report. Koch Industries and the Koch family also spent $37.9 million between 2006 and 2009. "Although Koch intentionally stays out of the public eye, it is now playing a quiet but dominant role in a high-profile national policy debate on global warming," the report concludes. The report lists 35 organizations who have directly or indirectly received money from Koch Industries, affiliates, or Koch family foundations. They include the libertarian think-tank Cato Institute, which received a $1 million grant from the Kochs. Cato runs the climate-change-denial site GlobalWarming.org, and is suing the Environmental Protection Agency to block its finding that climate change threatens human health. The Koch family has also directed more than $5 million to Americans for Prosperity, which has campaigned against efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions. They have also supported Citizens for a Sound Economy (which later merged with another group to form FreedomWorks). [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 2, 2010 5:53:43 PM] |

Your choice of words is wanting. There is NO CRU malpractice! Here in the news a 20 year old Bangladesh/Indian dispute over an island. SLR has resolved that dispute. The island went under http://www.terradaily.com/reports/Vanishing_i...ngladesh_dispute_999.html Inconveniently true, probably getting a Tectonic movement puh puh comeback. What's new? As for the UK members of parliament... as competent as your quoted UK Judge ruling the Kilimanjaro snow cover reduction is caused by land use change, MAN MADE THUS TOO. Ain't True? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eMkth8FWno Oh yes, edit, errata: Resistance is futile, 75% already has discovered the truth, resistance IS futile.

Land ownership is an odd concept, probably derived from instinctive territorialism.
----------------------------------------Science tells us Land is made by tectonics. It may be claimed by man, used by man, sold by man and fought over by man but it is land that engulfs man, and in time even land is engulfed - by the sea. Sek there is clearly demonstrable malpractice at CRU
----------------------------------------But the Politicians are in no rush to call it as such Phil Jones et al owe the Citizens of the Globe an apology But we are not going to get one Meanwhile.... The Coal Mine Canary equivalent for MMGW the "inexorably disappearing" Polar Ice Caps....well let's just say that Canary hasn't looked so healthy for at least 5 years and if we take the record at JAXA "since records began" in 2002 on this day. Just look how bright eyed and chirpy he is with his beautiful yellow plumage. We must be feeding him on some good seed It's not looking good for it to be all gone in Summer by 2014 is it now Al "Peace Prize 2007" Gore? http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGES/seaice.anomaly.arctic.png yes I know "It's like Swiss Cheese" "Terribly Thin" "Not Multiyear Ice" I have heard it all before It's as close to perfectly normal as makes no difference http://nsidc.org/data/seaice_index/images/daily_images/N_stddev_timeseries.png btw the Island disappeared through coastal erosion as has been going on ever since the Sea met the Land - not on account of Man Made Global Warming - an Island made up of the silt deposits in a delta is never going to be a permanent thing no matter how much you wish or think the World should remain just as it is today. Sorry but those are the hard facts. Still stuck in KAF waiting for my faulty card to be replaced with one from Belgium. I'm putting in the telecoms and paging system in the Role 3 Hospital on base. Missing the rain and the cold I haven't had this much of a tan since the hot Summer of 2006 Forecast for today 32C (Not 32F )Dave (in the dust) ![]() |

Arctic Seabed Methane Stores Destabilizing
----------------------------------------http://yglesias.thinkprogress.org/archives/20...-stores-destabilizing.php It's a good thing this is all part of some giant conspiracy, because if I thought scientists at the University of Alaska were undertaking good-faith scientific research I'd be really worried about this: A section of the Arctic Ocean seafloor that holds vast stores of frozen methane is showing signs of instability and widespread venting of the powerful greenhouse gas, according to the findings of an international research team led by University of Alaska Fairbanks scientists Natalia Shakhova and Igor Semiletov. The research results, published in the March 5 edition of the journal Science, show that the permafrost under the East Siberian Arctic Shelf, long thought to be an impermeable barrier sealing in methane, is perforated and is leaking large amounts of methane into the atmosphere. Release of even a fraction of the methane stored in the shelf could trigger abrupt climate warming. Science stunner: Vast East Siberian Arctic Shelf methane stores destabilizing and venting http://climateprogress.org/2010/03/04/science...ian-arctic-shelf-venting/ Scientists learned last year that the permafrost permamelt contains a staggering “1.5 trillion tons of frozen carbon, about twice as much carbon as contained in the atmosphere,” much of which would be released as methane. Methane is is 25 times as potent a heat-trapping gas as CO2 over a 100 year time horizon, but 72 times as potent over 20 years! It is increasingly clear that if the world strays significantly above 450 ppm atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide for any length of time, we will find it unimaginably difficult to stop short of 800 to 1000 ppm. Sorry but those are the hard facts. We are still waiting for your so-called hard facts to be supported by science, but so far its only your opinion. You extrapolate one isolated item across the entire subject to justify your scientifically dis-proven conclusion, but use one isolated item to disagree with broad-based trends across a range of proven science. Actually none of us are truly waiting for you to present scientific conclusions, we were just trying to bait you. Even the Koch brothers only have opinion and they are far more dangerous. You and your imaginary friends are living in a dream world and we really can't help you, since you have the key in there with you. The sad part is that we have to save the world while putting up with you and you will benefit even though you cursed us during the entire process. |

Astrolab
----------------------------------------No I didn't Sek extrapolated one isolated item Not me The island in question only appeared in 1974 and had no inhabitants. More of a sand bank than an island http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Moore_/_South_Talpatti So let's not mourn the tragic loss of a sand bank because the flow of the Hariabhanga River and claim it disappeared because of Man Made Global Warming eh? That would be spin wouldn't it? ![]() |
