Peak Sea Ice n 2014 20th March. Just 1 day short of the latest peak seen in 2003 (in the JAXA data)

On the 20th March it was the size of 59.3 United Kingdoms or just over 1.5 USA's

So quite clearly disappearing

Over to you Mr Gore

shock It's melting

Ohhh! You cursed brat! Look what you've done! I'm melting! Melting!

...as it does ever year at this time

It's the relative angle towards the Sun allowing the longer day length that does it you know wink

It's amazing the amount of Energy we get from that huge ball of fusion powered plasma 93 million miles away

Even allowing for the scattering, reflection and incidence to the Earth surface, the annual global power demand (in all forms) impinges on the surface of the Earth every 1 hour 21 minutes

and that's just the bit that makes it down to the ground.

To add to the debate:

Dissent among scientists over key climate impact report

and about the needed cautious approach for shale gas:

Oil well safety warning for fracking

Alged

The anti-fracking piece is by the BBC I don't need to say any more. Are they suggesting we shouldn't drill because in the past after production well heads have been abandoned? That is the equivalent of saying we shouldn't go to the moon again because afterwards we end up with these huge lumps of concrete we used as the launch pad. It's just weasel words to provide the opportunity to push the drinking water contamination line. I'll say again the shale gas will be extracted from 10,000ft below the surface. Much better an orphaned well than any radioactive legacy we leave behind.

The horror

35,000 sq kms above normal. Just a bit more than a Belgium. Terrifying this almost normal isn't it. We must do something to stop it

Save the Planet from this outrageous typicalness

Stop the sameness

Demand action from your local Politician. Ask them what they are doing to prevent this outpouring of average.

If they say "Nothing" shame them into stopping this relentless day after day month after month year after year monotony. Ask them when they are going to deliver on the promise of catastrophe we are all funding.

wink

Not long now until the UK has intermittent "Earth Hours" sprinkled liberally throughout the week

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The March 2014 result is in and the average temperature from 2438 NOAA Weather Stations around the Globe was 6.489C

The average temperature April 2013 through to the end of March 2014 was 12.202C

Here's another forum friendly sized graph that updates hourly

The graphs above are (at this moment in time) the result of 71,428,824 individual temperature measurements taken around the Globe from NOAA Weather Stations since the beginning of 2011 cool

I'll leave it with you
