Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The circle is completed

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24561325

Now French owned, part Chinese funded, Nuclear Power Stations, post Fukushima, will power....... the UK

Once the guaranteed strike price of ~ twice the going rate per KWh has been agreed... for the next 40 years and then we'll pay for the decommissioning/waste storage forever more

I'm exhausted.

I can't battle the level of Global Lunacy anymore

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/afp/1...rike-deal-nuclear-project

Key point

"The agreed guaranteed price for the electricity provided was 92.5 pounds (109 euros, $148) per megawatt hour.

According to the source, this is nearly twice the prevailing rate in Britain"

That's the guaranteed wholesale price (9.25p/KWh) - not the price we will be paying.

Twice the prevail rate

For how long?

And who will pay to decommission it and store the waste?

Assuming it doesn't turn into another Fukushima

France is pushing her so called, "know-how" in nuclear industry
Meanwhile we have the oldest nuclear plants (many incidents recently) of the continent.
And there is not till now a safe place and technique to dispose the waste.
Trains of "refueled waste" are also crossing the country to an off La Hague

They walk on their heads and play with our lifes.
