Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The (long term) EARTH ROTATION RATE can be in one of 3 states:

STABLE : as the Earth is a dynamical system it is unlikely
SLOWING : as we can find this is the general information available and corresponds to the science mainstream public position
example here : http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/leapsec.html
@ "Time Service Dept., U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, DC "
"The aged Earth is slowing down in its daily rotation, at least in the current epoch. "
the same is here and full of acceptable references
and here at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_second
and here at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_rotation http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=343608

So it's not true that years go by faster as you get older my days are now 658 microseconds longer than they were when I was born biggrin

Just think what you can achieve with all that extra time shock

(No rude comments from the Gallery - thank you biggrin btw the answer is, as always, "twice" wink )

I am sure you will figure it out-- wink By the way how is the weather across the pond Dave??

Did Warren Buffett Bribe the President?

We've uncovered evidence that legendary investor Warren Buffett may have cut a deal with President Obama.

The specific terms may never be known... but the evidence suggests Buffett helped Obama win a second term as president — and in return, Buffett got a huge favor.

This "favor" has been worth $22 billion to Buffett so far — and it will make him billions more in the future.

We've put our findings together in a short presentation that you can watch here. http://www.angelnexus.com/o/web/42652

More on the UK's "Green Deal"

(The one where you pay off a loan for insulation through even higher fuel bills with an upfront "survey" cost of around £100)

It's as warm outside today in Gloucester as in Napoli

Positively balmy.

Every now and again in winter we get a sou'wester

If we're lucky

Extremes of weather are no surprise to those who saw Al Gore's movie, which seems to let out a lot of people. But it appears that there won't be much wheat from the Plains States this year, so whether you freeze or burn will be somewhat incidental.
