here's a thing On June 17th 2011 11:50 the 30 day average temperature (as taken by 2565 NOAA weather stations around the globe hourly - 1,846,800 individual temperature measurements) was 19.04C A year later the same set of weather stations are recording what 30 day average temperature do you think? ![]() I'll give you a clue it starts with 19 and ends in the digits 04 ![]() All that marvellous chaos ...and incredible overall stability Dave (all the raw data is here http://www.theglobalthermometer.com/metar.cfm) That's a surprise!! ![]() ![]() crunching, crunching, crunching. Morning World
----------------------------------------For us Northern Hemisphere types (the majority of us) it's back into Winter we go ![]() Normally the Solstice is on the 21st June but 2012's occurred at 23:09 yesterday (it'll be down to that extra day in February) So from here on in the Nights will get shorter again For those lucky enough to live in the Southern Hemisphere Summer is on it's way back ![]() That said despite the decreasing solar radiation we will be receiving the hot water bottle of the Earth's Oceans and the storage heater that is the Land masses we will keep getting warmer until around the 3rd August in the Northern Hemisphere. Just one of the smoothing time lags built into the Climate system. Dave ![]() |

The godfather of global warming lowers the boom on climate change hysteria Two months ago, James Lovelock, the godfather of global warming, gave a startling interview to msnbc.com in which he acknowledged he had been unduly “alarmist” about climate change.
----------------------------------------The implications were extraordinary. Lovelock is a world-renowned scientist and environmentalist whose Gaia theory — that the Earth operates as a single, living organism — has had a profound impact on the development of global warming theory. Unlike many “environmentalists,” who have degrees in political science, Lovelock, until his recent retirement at age 92, was a much-honoured working scientist and academic. His inventions have been used by NASA, among many other scientific organizations. http://www.torontosun.com/2012/06/22/green-drivel ![]() |

----------------------------------------Update: More Than 700 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims Outpouring of Skeptical Scientists Continues as 59 Scientists Added to Senate Report ‘The science has, quite simply, gone awry’ Washington, DC: Fifty-nine additional scientists from around the world have been added to the U.S. Senate Minority Report of dissenting scientists, pushing the total to over 700 skeptical international scientists – a dramatic increase from the original 650 scientists featured in the initial December 11, 2008 release. The 59 additional scientists added to the 255-page Senate Minority report since the initial release 13 ½ weeks ago represents an average of over four skeptical scientists a week. This updated report – which includes yet another former UN IPCC scientist – represents an additional 300 (and growing) scientists and climate researchers since the initial report’s release in December 2007. Belief in climate models compared to “ancient astrology”… "I believe the anthropogenic (man-made) effect for climate change is still only one of the hypotheses to explain the variability of climate.” - Award-winning Japanese Physicist Dr. Kanya Kusano, program director of the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology who’s research “focuses on the immaturity of simulation work cited in support of the theory of anthropogenic climate change.” compared climate models to “ancient astrology.” The over 700 dissenting scientists are now more than 13 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers. The 59 additional scientists hail from all over the world, including Japan, Italy, UK, Czech Republic, Canada, Netherlands, the U.S. and many are affiliated with prestigious institutions including, NASA, U.S. Navy, U.S. Defense Department, Energy Department, U.S. Air Force, the Philosophical Society of Washington (the oldest scientific society in Washington), Princeton University, Tulane University, American University, Oregon State University, U.S. Naval Academy and EPA. http://www.epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?Fu...2a-23ad-4df1-fc38ed4f85e3 ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by GeraldRube at Jun 23, 2012 4:44:38 PM] |
