From my Global Thermometer which takes the temperatures from 2565 NOAA weather stations around the globe every hour
----------------------------------------... In 2011 the 30 day average temperature went above 20C for the first time in the year on the 26th June at 13:00 In 2012 the 30 day average temperature went above 20C for the first time in the year on the 26th June at 06:00 n.b. we had a leap year this year All that marvellous chaos... incredible stability Esoteric17 once asked me if I had any empirical data to back up my anecdotal claim that if you look out the window there isn't a Climate Crisis Well with 33,225,441 individual temperature records in my lovely database so far... let's just say I'm working on it ![]() Here's a graph presenting the result of those 33,225,441 measurements ![]() Dave ![]() |

Dave that is good---maybe you should work at University and grab some grants--then you can fudge the numbers and get paid for it!!

Nah
----------------------------------------That way I would have to toe the party line This way, working for a living, building a server and paying for it's hosting ..we all get to know the truth. Raw unadulterated direct from the weather station data. Which is why as soon as I wake up on the 1st of every month I can instantly produce last months stats. We are still (and it is now very nearly July) waiting for Hadley Climate Research Unit to produce a value for May. How much data torturing goes on there? ![]() + while it's not busy doing Climate Science those 4 environmentally friendly cores of the 65W TDP 905E processor that powers the Global Thermometer get to crunch through .. currently ..HPF2, HCC and HFCC - and we all win (~4.2Million WCG Points a year) ![]() 120W at the socket with all the fans blowing. ![]() |

btw anyone want to challenge my results as "bogus"
----------------------------------------How about you let me know whereabouts in the world you are and I'll produce the graph for your local weather station for the last month and then you can verify that the data I am maintaining in my database reflects your local reality. If that is indeed the case then so is the graph 3 posts above. Cynics please step forward ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by David Autumns at Jun 26, 2012 3:14:03 PM] |

According to David Autumns his computer is capable of doing 134.5 floating point mips per watt. But according to a recent article about IBM’s Sequoia supercomputer, that computer is capable of doing 2 billion floating point mips per watt. That would be almost 15 times what David Autumns is getting. IBM should decide if the cost difference in electricity justifies wcg's existence. If the total cost of producing these results is much greater for the volunteers than it would be for IBM to produce them on a supercomputer, than IBM should close down wcg and produce the results on a supercomputer.
