Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

biggrin

Remember the only thing the Scarecrow was afraid of was a lighted match wink

and have you checked "ice free in as little as 7 years from now [10th Dec 2007]"

..and keeping with the Oz theme at least the shrieking of "Look what you've done! I'm melting! melting! Oh, what a world! What a world!" seems to have abated

What was that you predicted would happen Dave ? http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...,27654_offset,2450#332072

Yours as ever

"A cursed brat!" peace

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14399557

It has emerged that fewer young people are taking their driving tests. [in the UK]

The number of 17 to 22 year-olds taking their driving test has fallen by 19% since 2005, a drop of more than 200,000 people.

Analysts say it could be that the rising cost of learning to drive, plus the cost of insurance is that is putting them off.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The AA said the 15.2% dip in petrol sales and the 6% fall in diesel sales compared with 2008 was caused by austerity and the record fuel prices, which saw petrol increase by 7.94p a litre and diesel go up by 10.51p a litre in the first three months of this year.

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/...on-litres-91466-29016245/

Oh don't worry we will hit our targets as required in all of this legislation

http://www.environmentlaw.org.uk/rte.asp?id=54

The target for 2050

(1) It is the duty of the Secretary of State to ensure that the net UK carbon account for the year 2050 is at least 80% lower than the 1990 baseline

No doubt about it at this rate of decline

..and the impact on the Climate of the Earth

Diddly Squat

Nothing to do with Climate nothing at all

http://www.rowtothepole.com/

any moment soon reality is about to descend

This is where the magnetic north pole was in 1996 at 78.595°N

The actual north pole is 1267Km further north from where they are attempting to go (787 Miles in old money)

Raising awareness of how puny mankind is against the power of nature

Way to go guys peace

The inevitable flip side to Caroline Spelman the Secretary of State for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs audacity to declare drought in the UK http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/natu...rought-looms-2284401.html

a quick fast forward and .......

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I was hoping for a milder winter with the Sun at least attempting a return towards Sunspot Maxima.

Last year was good but this year I have never seen so many berries

This is a tree planted in some ropey soil on an industrial estate - not one lavished with TLC !

this doesn't bode well for (NH) Winter 2011-12 worried

Personally, I think that all Christians and other faiths need to start prayers on their bare knees, on the cocosmats, in unison and loudest, for those sunspots not to return... they do nasty stuff whilst our ozone layer remains in a sorrowly damaged state. Just look what 2 of your terrible winters have produced... part of the ISD... maybe some were heard, those that know! Can't be fooled forever... like smoking is not bad for your health.

2011 -0,00765668% less irradiation than came down in 2003, the heatwave year... wait, think there's something about heatwaves in 2011, selectively escaping attention .

Only in the parallel universe it may make a difference.

--/--

P.S., Plants like diffuse light, our plumes did so too with record fruit baring... better CO2 uptake, and with help the billions of tonnes of aerosols we're still injecting into the air, that will continue to be the state of the air we breath for decades to come.

P.P.S. Aerosols and dust and volcanic sulfur and other ejecta are a superb break on Hurricanes, the season for them still young... but lets not discuss the Typhoons... that's another part of the planet, way away from your berry-picking window.

P.P.P.S. Man's so puny, yet is able to create plastic floats in the oceans the size of Germany, France and Spain together ... long as we continue doing it, it will add up to change the atmospheric CO2 by 40%... Oxygen and Nitrogen are transparent to Long Wave back radiation from Earth... CO2 and Methane [CH4] are NOT.

Oh yes, before we forget... no warming in the 21st century... but only in your dreams:

Did I write anything new that is not getting through and sticking? Dead ice bears are disposed of a toxic waste, after skinning... not edible... one of them ripped a kid apart last week on Svalbard... we're dinner too if other sources can't be reached over ice.

Please continue to make it up as you go [and leave out the important facts, that matter to the future wellbeing of us all 7 billion]

edit: Food for David'Autumns' thoughts... really want your sunspots back? Tell it to the Texans, who have trouble believing GW is anything to worry about: Texas State Climatologist: “It may well be th...ly … the most unbearable”

Don't think the Texans will be thrilled to get the sun to max anytime soon... 0.1% is what a min / max flux is, the Total Solar Irradiance, coming from about 8 minutes light travel distance.

Oh dear the Great Profit Gore has lost it

I could link to it but it's not family friendly and allegedly unsuitable for this forum.

You'll find it if you want to

Very funny he sounds real cereal

Remember folks

999,607 parts out of every million in the atmosphere is not CO2

Those 393 parts allow all life on Earth

No CO2 no food chain

No food chain

No you and me and every other living thing

Sek it's called perspective
