Warning for DA aka SM, new standard of excellence in understanding our flat earth.

There's mention of ICEsat... http://www.archive.org/details/SVS-3589 ... yes we really are blind to the mountain of facts on the AGW side... the thinner and rotten, to the core, and we're talking of course of... sea ice.

PS: Dr. Jones is exonerated rightfully, and resumes his job ASAP at CRU/UEA. He deserves many apologies. Many!

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Today I really feel the crushing power of the state. Some days it takes all of your strength just to stand upright and keep on going.

Denial really is quite exhausting. It must take a lot of energy to look daily at a brick house with a solid foundation and keep telling yourself it's a house of cards.

DA, yes you really have it tough. Fresh water at the tap whenever you want it. Fresh food at the local store, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Its really a tough life compared to the billion or 2 that have to sleep on the ground every night, contract ravaging diseases from the water and have no idea if or when they might see any food, never mind a whole meal.

It's really a sad state of affairs to hear about the privileged people of the world who really have to tough it out every day under the crushing weight of their good fortune. Man, I hope you don't have to call a cab to get to the doctor's office. It is so much harder than having to walk the 200 miles to his tent.

Keep us all posted on how it's going for you.

LOL now you are just being irrational.

Take care

Dave

Most everything is irrational to you, so what's new? Put on your second coat and shiver.

PS: Knew to have seen it in the UK, so the term should not have been unfamiliar:

Think to have posted the link to a "Climate Crock of the Week" by Peter Sinclair before: Sea Ice Area vs Volume http://www.youtube.com/user/greenman3610#p/u/23/2nruCRcbnY0 (in that removed Greenies thread)

For those inclined, watch and listen, then wonder: Would the offhandedly dismissed 'it's just a model' PIOMAS sea ice volume chart, presently indicating some 11,000 km cubic anomalously missing be all that far from the 'actual' when Cryosat2 is ready to deliver? Consider, that if the 'normal' is computed from the mountain of data we already have, why would the missing part be 'wrong', which is stretchable term in the beholders eyes? Maybe another frivolous and costly investigation should be started for the "Ain't True" to 'exhibit' that the 8th decimal was incorrect and the communication could be better. Then what will that proof to be an excuse for... it's OK again to wait for September 13?

It's hot here for the somanieth day, thus we only go by Australian summer dress-code, except the socks are the shortest to be found.

Lawrence Solomon July 6, 2010 – 10:36 am

The Arctic shows no signs of warming, according to the latest data from the Danish Meteorological Institute’s Centre for Ocean and Ice. Last month, in fact, virtually every single day saw temperatures below the mean experienced over the last half-century. The Danish data – taken daily – casts doubt on climate models that had predicted a steady warming of the Arctic. Earlier this year, Arctic temperatures had been warming, giving hope to those who back the global warming hypothesis that their long expected Arctic warming had begun.

The Danish institute has tracked mean temperatures above the 80th northern parallel since 1958. For a graph of how June 2010 compares, click here.

I have since had a chance to do some more research. In modern times, I have listed below when the North West Passage has been traversed. taken from a post

1817-18 Edward Parry almost made it in a sailing ship
1903-06. Roald Amunsden did it in the "Gjoa"
1940's the Canadians put a number of ships through
1954 the HMCS "Labrador"
1962 the USS "Skate" did it
1969 a 150,000 ton oil tanker went through, carrying a barrel of oil from the North West Slope
2000 the Canadian ship "Nadon" did it from East to West

An excellent resource is "The Quest for the North West Passage" by the Folio Society

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Hey marysduby, ever measured the temperature in a glass during the melt of an icecube? Does not go up until all ice has melted. He (Solomon) reports on mid summer measurement. Did you notice what the red line is doing in the December-May period (days 0-150 on that chart)? For those inclined to read the article and then follow the link to the chart: http://www.probeinternational.org/Arctic%20te...ne%202010%20vs%20Mean.png

Sea ice melts from below when the temperature up top is above minus 11C and when it's thin, and still above -11C, it will still melt... except there's less, in the vertical! The phenomena of run-off, sweat water surface cover, allowing easier freezing during winters is well known... you know, sweat water is lighter and will sit on top of the salty sea water below, until there is no sweat water to run off or melt.

A classic from the Ain't True side: "Admit It" (you've been fooled).

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

See how much of this you can stomach

http://www.cleanskies.com/videos/exonerated-climategate-professor-speaks-out

While you are watching it remember this is from the guy who spliced on the thermometer recorded data into his proxy temperature record because the actual temperature record didn't match the proxy record over the instrumental record

He never once considered that as a result his proxy data might not be showing reality

At a stroke he eliminated the Medieval Warm Period and the so call Little Ice Age

The result...

The Hockey Stick Graph of Al Gore's Scissor lift propaganda movie fame "The Convenient Tax Gathering Ruse"

and the claims that 1998 was the warmest year.....ever

Now that is the truth and not even Sek or Eso could deny it

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The Labour government set a target of using at least 15% renewable energy by 2020. However, the latest audit shows that the UK only generates 2.3% of electric from renewable sources! How could this be?
Well, between 2000 and 2009 Labour only spent £265 million on direct aid for renewable energy projects, but a massive £1 Billion on introducing energy regulations!

EU officially says no to illegal timber
