Well I got my 21 hours and a few extra. I even aborted one unit so that someone else might get the credit.
----------------------------------------Thank you to the people who returned units, I appreciate the thought. Back to crunching random projects until something new comes out |

Congratulations Gavin on getting those few extra hours you needed in order to achieve your Gold badge :-)

This is why I gave up on CRP going over gold. I did not think I could get enough work in the time the project had left to go much higher. So, I concentrated on flu to get sapphire and now am trying to go down in reverse order of project completion to get my numbers up to sapphire or high emerald on the remainder ... sadly I think the ruby color is truly ugly ...
For those trying to get beta, not sure if this is the only or best strategy but also look to reducing your queue below 0.5 days as that seems to draw more work ... it also helps to have more systems of course ... I was lucky the last issue period to get Bronze though I have a long way to go to get Silver ... In any case, gold is good ... heck, any badge is good because we all don't have mega farm systems ... speaking of Beta tasks ... I just saw one running on one of my systems! Looks like a 50 hour task and I have 3 more queued ... next stage of CEP? |

If you look in the Beta Announcement forum you will see they did a very short DDDT2 beta that has large work units. They should push you closer to silver

Paul,
I agree ruby is ugly and like you I am going back to the old projects to get saphire. Currently just a couple days away for saphire for HCC. Then HPF and then FAH. Have over 460 days for each so should not take long. By the way I see you slowly creaping up on me. My new i7 is slowing, probably the enevitable of you catching me, but maybe I can cobble together a few more computers to stay ahead of you! |

I agree ruby is ugly ..... What is it with this critical analysis of a colour? The badges are a symbol. The Ruby badge represents 180 days of run time on a project. I am quite sure that most crunchers that earn a Ruby badge are quite happy for the recognition of what they have done.Do you really want one of the techs to waste their valuable time changing the colour of a badge because you think is it ugly? As for me, I would rather they finish Alpha and Beta testing a new project so that I can earn a Ruby badge for the new project. |

I've aborted 9 units.
Should be able to get my gold without these, so enjoy this trickle... ;-) good luck with the badges, whatever the colour. |

CEP & Rice projects - Sapphire is blue on blue,
----------------------------------------AC@H - Gold is yellow on yellow, HCC - Silver is a grey blob on grey. At least someone had the sense to change the central colours for HFCC! [Edit 1 times, last edit by skgiven at Oct 8, 2009 12:55:16 AM] |

it looks like I'll have 6 extra work units to return...I've got those suspended until the next stats refresh, just to make sure I've made emerald, but since I'm showing as being just 7 hours away, and I'm pretty sure I've got at least 3 or 4 more being submitted, that shouldn't be a problem. I'll probably abort them tomorrow morning, so if you're close, be on the lookout for a few more popping up.
