Re: Final Batches of IADS have been sent.

It has been a wild ride for the Badge Chaser.
First Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire where added.
A short time later a suprise ending to DDDT
CEP and now IADS with very little time inbetween.

All we need now, are two or three new projects starting very close together laughing

Re: Final Batches of IADS have been determined.

downtowndan, Sek was correct. I looked at only what was sent into the loaded state. I had deselected IADS from my projects to give work units to others and was pretty sure that all were sent. I was mistaken, but it gave badge hunters an extra 45+min plus of work units :)

David_L6, When the end of project posts happen this will be when the projects are changed to intermittent. So, if you have it set to receive emails from World Community Grid you should get an email from us with information about this project ending. This will be the time when the project is turned into intermittent.

Thanks again,

Actually we do (but not until my queues emptys out). This has been a focused effort for so long I am not sure what I am going to do with my time now. Since there are not any projects scheduled to end for the next several months I need not check on my clients daily, I may have to go back to getting actual work done at work!. shock

Re: Final Batches of IADS have been determined.

how do you get so many wu's.
My que is 10 days and i cant change it to more!
I only receive 5 tasks

Several machines with multicores. I built and added an i7 specifically to help me get six months cumulative work in about a week.

How's that for dedication?

Hmmm... All I need is a bit more green stuff (and I don't mean emerald) to throw away on i7s and I could hook up two more machines, at least, to catch up with some of you guys (or gals). I would really like to know what Intel is doing for the next generation of processors and what speed we might expect. The max for affordable and reliable PCs seems to be around 3.3 GHz with major changes being in other areas. What requirements will there be on operating systems?

Have more than enough queued for Sapphire ...... will be 'returning' a few WUs to the fold.
Good luck to all on reaching your badges.

i9 will be out *early* next year ... this is hexcore and preliminary reports show it overclocking quite easily over 4 GHz, serious crunching power. The chip is a direct replacement for i7 1366 socket with the same power envelope so I can switch out my processor, download a new BIOS and magically get two more cores than I have today.

There's nothing really magical about digging deep into your pocket! KER ching ;)

To me, magical is more like when I flashed my first ever SCSI single speed CD writer and it became a dual speed!

However, what you say about i9 interests me. It's refreshing to note that it could go into 'old' technology and be supported. I haven't heard of that in a while.
